I don't understand though. Why must I bow and learn their language? Why shouldn't the others make as much of an effort?

I don't disagree with you. Most of them seem to be from America, they never had a need to learn another language so they never did.

I think it is good to know as many languages as possible, but I learn them easily. I doubt anyone will force you to learn English but it would probably make life easier for you.

That is entirely your choice. As you can see I know your language so it makes no difference to me either way.
