No one is 'whooping' me with anything. I've broken enough bones at my father's hand and that was just for existing. So excuse me for being proud of myself, but I won't apologize for being a babe at the bosom of France and believing in her, in spite of an unjust king who ignores his subjects.

Are you really any different from my father and the soldier who shot me?

I'm not so sure right now.

No more sublimal threats of beating me, killing each other and indicating that I'm an evil child for driving this Monsieur to drink, please. You all ought to be ashamed of yourself.

You are a growing boy, you need more than wine and bread. Otherwise you will stay short, and lanky. You don't want that do you?

I can't make anyone apologize. But I will bring it up to Tony in the morning if you promise to be civil when he does.

You and he aren't all that different. Except you had a whole army of people with you, even if they weren't a trained one, and he didn't. And, well, the age. But you'll catch up to him eventually.

Which isn't all that surprising, the cultures are very different, between us. Years are very different between us. But anything I said to you was not meant as an insult. I didn't say you were Monsieur Stark. I meant to imply you have things in common. Not all things, mind you, but a lot of things.

You're both incredibly smart. And incredibly brave. You both do things because they are the right thing to do, even if the odds are stacked against you and you should run in the opposite direction.

I'm not going to defend Tony's drinking, but I will explain it. Like you he did not have an easy a life, people think he did, but he didn't. Because even rich fathers can be cruel fathers. And Tony got treated like trash, like you did, just because he existed. He's drinking because he was reminded of that time. And he wants to forget it.

Why do you think he and I get along so well? When abused children grow up they tend to gravitate toward others like themselves.

Guns don't actually work unless you're good enough to shoot it in the eye, and I'm talking about guns from a newer era not one that just uses a ball and powder. And even then it would depend on how old it is as to how thick it's skull's got. Their hides are incredibly thick. Thick enough that they put a Rhino's hide to shame.

I'll leave my pig sticker hanging from your Elephant's trunk. It's sharp enough to cut one's throat, or lodge into it's brain if you can get behind it.

And please please please check in with someone when you wake up. This place is dangerous. I've had to bury a lot of people lately, and I have a feeling I'm going to have to bury a lot more. I don't want your face to be one of them.
