No, he doesn't. He read about you in those books he talked about, and he met you six weeks ago, Lu. That's about enough time to know that you don't like learning French or Latin, or possibly work out some trade dispute with the Telmarines. It's nowhere near enough time to learn one person, inside and out.

I know you do, but that's just it. We don't get what we want. We're Royalty, Lu. Our hands in marriage are given to gain political favour, to strengthen Narnia. Don't you remember how Rabadash courted Su when he was at Cair Paravel, and I had to take her to Tashbaan and sit through so many meetings with the Tisroc and his Grand Vizier on behalf of Pete? It wouldn't surprise me if Pete had been planning to marry me off to some relative of King Lune, just to cement our status with Archenland.
