Hello,

I suppose I should introduce myself, it seems like the done thing on arrival.

I'm Newt Scamander, I'm from England. I'm led to believe that magic, and magical creatures, are no strange thing here.

I'm a wizard and a magizoologist. Which is just like it sounds, I care for magical creatures. Rescue them, collect them, help them, educate others about them. But you know, if you have a domestic cat with a cough I'm sure I can take a look at that as well.

Okay, I think that's all for now.

Oh - Sirius? I got the right case back! I'm sure you are delighted for me.

There are creatures here, but most of them are already owned by others! So collecting them might be uh. Uhm... Hard to do!

Oh, okay. Dean.... Uh, Dean may be something Newt is after then. Dean is a dragon! :D Though, Dean is used to fighting monsters. Dean has been called a 'weapon' before..

I understand, I have some experience of dragons as weapons. I was trying to train some Ukrainian Ironbellies for use at the Eastern Front, but... well, they would listen to me, but they just wanted to eat anyone who wasn't me, so we abandoned that project. Lovely creatures, though! Fascinating.

Where are you from? What are your kind called?

Uh... Dean does not understand much of what Newt just said.. Were they trying to hurt people? Dean will smash them, then! Dean protects people!

Dean is a Dragonborn. But, Dean does not know where Dean is from, just that Dean was trained under The Totem and fought alongside the Swords Of Orion.

It made your friend happen? Oh, happy? It made your friend happy? That's great.

They were trying to hurt people, but that wasn't their fault. We shouldn't have been trying to make them fight in a war that wasn't theirs to fight. How are they meant to know the difference between a human on one side and a human on the other? They would listen to me because I was their friend, but not everyone understands them.

Now it is my turn to not understand much of what Dean said, but that is okay. That means you are a new species to me, and that is really quite special!

Yes! Happy! Dean is sorry, Dean has to talk to the tablet Dean has and it does not always use Dean's words as they should be used.

Well, it is good that it was not their fault... Dean knows how it is to be a weapon in someone else's fights. But Dean is glad Newt could be their friend! :D Newt is a good person!

Uh... Dean is a Dragon? And The Swords Of Orion is the group Dean fought alongside with. We fought many things that hurt people. Dean can meet with Newt if Newt wants to?

Hello! That's fantastic. Most likely, depending on what you have. Would you mind terribly if I came and took a look? Then, if there are creatures I am no familiar with, I can be sure to study up just in case anything troubles them.

In fact, even better, would you like me to teach you how to treat them? That way, if I return home suddenly, I've left you with a little knowledge and a little less worry.

No, no, it's a magic suitcase, it's bewitched with an Undetectable Extension Charm. All of my (real, not toy) creatures are in there, that is why I was so upset that I may have accidentally switched it with another case.

I think that is the spell to make secret compartments. I would be very sad if I lost that suitcase! Do you have a dragon? Mr Selwyn used to have a dragon. Does the suitcase have lots of little holes in it?

Yes, on a very large scale. Going inside my suitcase is sort of like visiting a magical safari, I suppose.

I don't have a dragon at the moment, no.

So they can breathe? Clever idea. No, I have created different habitats within the compartments, with the best air for each species in a pocket dimension. The case is just a case, and it even has a little button to make it 'muggle worthy' if anyone ever tries to open it that shouldn't.

Yes I thought they might need to breathe but the real way it is sounds much nicer for them. Do you have any creatures from the Frozen North? I like to read about great wizarding explorers and those expedditions are my favourites.

It is, the habitats are as close to natural as possible.

No, I don't unfortunately, the would be quite the adventure! I have travelled to five continents, but I have yet to traverse the ice of the Arctic. I'm sure I can tell you some exciting tales from other places, like the jungles of Peru perhaps.

The creature you might find most thrilling at present might be the Zouwu from China. That said, I'm very fond of bowtruckles and nifflers myself.

You have been to Peru and China? I would like to hear about your travels one day please. They are probably almost as exciting as the stories about Frederick Crabbe!

A Zouwu would be so big and fearsome! Did you really catch one? I like bowtruckles too, I like to look for them if I'm ever in a forest.

I have! But I actually found the Zouwu a long way from home, traveling with a circus that was performing in France. They didn't treat her right, so I took her in. They're huge yes, and fast, but just like a big kitten really!

Lovely. I have a favourite bowtruckle who likes to ride about on my lapel, he has some attachment issues. You'll see him with me some time, no doubt.
