Please tell me that all is well!

It is not so bad as I thought. I cannot write, I am speaking to my phone now, but I will not lose my arm, and by Asharai I will heal and not fall to the wound fever.

You must visit me, all of you, even if you avoid one another in your feuding. The pain - the pain is bad, but I must bear it, because I have seen too many half-drowned in taishel-syrup and never the same in the mind after their bodies healed. The medics here are too quick to press for these things! I am not so damaged to be left to that!

Tell me you are reading this and you are not hurt, and nothing worse came of this. You are all blameless to me. It happened because it was seen to happen, and we are all powerless before the magic that underpins the world.

Black,

The stand-off was tense. I didn't know what on earth we could do with him, there was no where to take him. It's a little bit funny, now, to be honest. Maybe that's the wrong attitude. We must've looked a right couple of fools.

Oh, well. In retrospect, that would've been bloody awful, but it seems only right at the time.

I know. He's actually an alright fellow. We'll have him for cards sometime when he's more settled, put this mess behind us, yes?

Crawley,

Someday I am going to look back at all this and laugh, and tell it as an amusing story, I'm sure. Just not quite today.

It makes me wonder. If we hadn't gone to look for Miss Tavehi, that prophecy wouldn't have come true, at least not in the way it did. We wouldn't have gone if we hadn't heard it. It's peculiar.

Is he? Yes, if you like, then. I know some good games for three.

Black,

It is peculiar, yeah. I wonder what would have happened if we had ignored the radio. Maybe she would've ended up getting shot in some other way? I don't know.

Yes, he is. You know how hard it is for us old timers, and he's further back than even me. Sounds good.

Crawley,

I expect she would have. I don't subscribe to the young lady's ideas about everything being fated and such, but to my knowledge Madrigal has not been wrong before.

In this place it is entirely refreshing for me to sit at a table and be the most modern fellow there! I'll give him a fair chance, then. There are few enough of us from our century.
