Not exactly. I'm the firstborn of the second generation of a spacer colony, which means that everyone I grew up around was a highly-trained specialist in something, and they all wanted to pass on something, because, you know, something goes wrong out there and the nearest help might be decades away. But I'm better at repairing machines than people.
That and maybe we do more routine monitoring than you're used to? A friend of mine said you were early 21st century. History's not my strong point, but some things have probably changed.
