I won't lie, I'm beginning to suspect that I'm not in SFO anymore. I knew they were doing some work on a few of their terminals but I feel like I would have remembered hearing about them opening a gate or two in space. We are in space, aren't we? Some sort of station? Admittedly, sensing ley lines within an artificial structure threw me off, it isn't something one sees often in my experience. Handy bit of magic, that. But still, we are in space, yes?

In any case, I am Zatanna Zatara, the mistress of Magic, the princess of prestidigitation, the headliner of the annual stage illusionists convention who apparently not only missed her plane to Vegas but has managed to literally fall off the face of the earth. If anyone would be so kind as to explain where we are, what is going on, and if whatever foodservice system is in place here offers a vegetarian option, I would be incredibly grateful.

Yes, we are in space. I still have trouble believing it sometimes.

I should introduce myself. My name's Dan Foster. Welcome aboard the station, Zatanna. That's a really interesting name.

Thank you, Dan. Do you know how you came to be here or did you just appear as I did?

And yes, I get that a lot. It's a family name, Italian, and at least unique enough that I never had to consider taking up a stage name.

I just sort of appeared here as well. Maybe 4 or 5 months ago now?

At least your name's interesting. You could have been given a name as dull as Dan Foster.

Are you all right?

You'd be surprised how much grief I get over it. But at least I bet you could always find your name on keychains, mugs, shot glasses and license plates every time you walked into a gift shop. Thirteen year old me was heartbroken.

I seem to be alright, though I can't access any of my usual methods of magical travel at the moment.

Trust me, it's better to have one of the harder to find names. People actually have to put thought into your gifts. I have to admit, slapping peoples names on things is certainly a fantastic marketing gimmick.

Magical travel? What sort?

It's true, I never had to worry about trademark infringement when I was slapping my name on my merch.

So far I've tried the usual, teleportation, portal creation, bending reality, even my magical housekeys. Nothing works. I can still fly, but I can't say I fancy flying all the way back to earth under my own power.

Clever.

Bugger... That's not good. I've been trying to find a way back too but I haven't been able to so far.

That doesn't mean you won't, it may just take a little more time.

Maybe. Either way, if you need any help with adjusting to this place, let me know. I'll do what I can to help.
