We've got another new door, people! This one is going to the Overlook Hotel in Colorado at the end of November 1978, and we've got it for a week. Very fancy doors. I didn't stick my head through, so I don't know what it's like. I didn't want to risk scaring anyone.

Well, you should be able to step through the door without scaring anyone as long as the Torrances are not in the area where the door is. I wouldn't want to give it away.

Well, essentially a structure can't be evil. It would only become that way through rituals performed within. And I mean freed. I know the hotel burns, or explodes, those souls could still be trapped regardless of the state of the hotel.

I don't much care how or why the Overlook became evil, but it was. Is. And it explodes, yeah. Most of the ghosts pass on at that point. A few hang around.

But all the souls that it has are not evil. At least they didn't start out that way. Though I have my doubts about Horace Derwent. He may have been the one that cursed it. Or he's the demon that was summoned. The only way to find out is to meet him.

And I don't know if they did this in your timeline, or if it was for the Television series only, the hotel was supposed to be rebuilt. And if Horace stuck around, he could have restarted his collection.

Horace Derwent didn't curse it. It was evil since it was built and that was back in 1910 or so. He didn't show up until after the second World War.

The hotel was not rebuilt in my timeline, no. And Horace didn't stick around. He followed me. Same as Mrs Massey.

Perhaps the original owners did it, while it was being built, because it would have to be on the slab or in the basement. Because I know it burned down once before.

I figures those two sick puppies would follow you around. It's not enough that they torment a child.

Yes he is. I don't know how we would explain to him who you were and why we were there, but maybe by this point he's drifted far enough that we could be 'spirits'.

It explodes on December 2nd. Everything starts ramping up about three days before that, so he might still listen now. I think my dad had... Has? a bit of the shining. So yeah, we can be spirits. But I'll tell him I'm Danny's invisible friend. Hopefully, that'll work.
