Hello Islanders everyone.

My name's Desmond, some of you I may have met at some point, some of you may have met me at some point, and if we're really lucky the two might even cross over and we'll actually have met each other. (Time travel is messy.)

Anyway, I'm here for however long I'm here, and I'm sure I can at least offer some of you friendship, but more specifically, the skills I have to offer that may or may not be transferable to a space station.

- I can sail pretty well.
- I am good with my hands, and I can have a good go at most carpentry work.
- I know basic emergency first aid.
- I have a religious background, and although I am clearly not a member of the monastery anymore, in the absence of any priest/minister/rabbi/whatever, I am happy to listen and advise firstly, and perhaps on a more "useful" note, I have conducted christenings, weddings, funerals etc for islanders in the past (and in the future).
- I did a six month detail with the military in disarming munitions. Hopefully that'll not come in handy, but you never know.
- On a similar note, I can handle most firearms well.

Other than that... I don't know, but if you're in need I'll try to help with pretty much anything I can.

I also like wine, scotch, old records, and a good game of football (soccer). On a more sociable note.

I'm amazing actually. Recent hot engaged and my sister is here now.

Managed to recover from your landing okay?

Well, congratulations, Sean! That is fantastic news. Do I know your fiance? Family is a blessing to have around in a world like this. I'm glad for you.

Yes, thank you. I managed to hear from Kat early on so that saved me from getting too messy.

Thank you. I don't know if you know him. Bobby Colquhoun? He's an artist.

Oh that's good. So you're head's on straight again?

Colquhoun? Scottish, is he? You know, he was a set designer for the Royal Shakespeare Company? So was I, years later, but they had some of of his designs in the archives there. Weird. Surreal. In a good way, I mean. Assuming it's the same guy, never actually met him, just looked at the designs.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean as straight as it ever is.

Well now you can actually meet him. I've got one of his paintings tattooed on my shoulder, actually.

That's really good.

I'd be honoured. And that's pretty cool actually, nice idea.

So, when's the wedding?

It was actually a Valentine's day present for him.

We decided on October 12th. Pretty much the only decision we've made so far.

Ah, you big softie.

Sounds good, and hey it's an important decision. If you need any help just give me a shout, you know.

What can I say? He's amazing.

I'm probably going to do that. I've never planned a wedding before.

Generally speaking, when one comes to plan their wedding, it usually is their first time. Not always, granted, but more often than note.

That is very true.

Any suggestions you can make right off the bat?

Not really. Don't stress too much. Remember that it is about you and Bobby and don't get too hung up on what other people might want or think. Consider what is important to you and your partner, and start by including those things.

Hi Desmond. I'm Lacey if we've never met before. I don't think we have.

I had a soccer team back home. The Ruby Reds. Named after my restaurant, the Ruby. I cook food here too, if you're ever hungry.

Hello, Lacey. No, I don't think that we have. Good to meet you.

Really? That's brilliant, maybe we can see if anyone else wants a kick around some time.

I'll definitely take you up on that.

It would be fun to try playing instead of coaching.

Great! It's always nice to meet people in person.

I was taught to always respect... well anyone. And while I don't normally like to tell people this, I think it's okay now because we're out of that timeline, you let me study you. But you were probably much older. So much development of stuff happened. And even if my parent's didn't teach me that, I'd definitely respect someone that allowed so much discovery.

You were going to say 'elders', weren't you? You were definitely going to say elders.

That's... really interesting actually. I probably shouldn't ask too many questions about what you discovered, even if the curiosity is going to kill me, but you must be someone I really trusted if we came to that agreement. So that's... pretty good to know.

I was! But that's only because my memory of you is one that is definitely older than me, but I'm not sure if you're an elder now.

No you probably shouldn't, but mostly because I babble. Not a lot of people can follow me, I'm holding back because of that, not because the alteration of time, because who knows? Maybe it is because of my science babble that you trusted me.

I was about to tell you my age, and then I realised that I don't even know how to begin calculating that anymore. So let's just say you don't have to call me Mr Hume?

I know what you mean. I've been told plenty of things that I wasn't meant to know yet to send me on the right path. It could be that something you tell me now is important for that agreement to come about. No way of knowing, really. I do tend to just get stuck in a cycle until it clicks, but that gets annoying.

Alright, Desmond. I can't promise you it will be a smooth transition but I will make a conscious effort not to call you Mr. Hume.

I understand how frustrating it can be. Especially with as many timelines as this place has.

You've always been so nice, which is why I've got to try.

Oh god I know! I can't do it like you do, I have to have gadgets, but when you're trying to get to a specific point in time in a specific timeline it is a major pain in the butt.

That's good. I'm glad I didn't get old and jaded and bitter, at least.

Well, see, that's interesting right away. I don't know how to aim for a specific point of a specific timeline. Yet.

It's very inspiring, that you hadn't.

It took a lot of jumping to figure it out.
