They were leftover from Kat's army of animals that helped fight what the Man sent against us when it was obvious we were not going to passively sit back and let him do whatever he wanted to us anymore. 	It was worse than that. She disappeared for a few days and came back in the middle of the battle. She'd been sent to an Earth where the elites made the hinterlands select children to fight in gladiatorial games where they were pitted against each other until only one was left alive.
