Before I forget to ask, do I actually have a ... place to stay?

You get excited quickly, don't you?

Hey, finding someone else who knows how to cook in this crazy place? Is worth getting excited over.

But yes.

Too many psychopaths and soldiers, too few cooks?

Yeah, something like that.

I'm just doing my best to make sure everyone makes it past the initial crazy arrival. A little medicine, a little cooking, a little making the street come alive and separate people... whatever it takes.

I can brew potions for when conventional Muggle medicine runs out and I can't be the only cook around, right? Sure, I cook with seaweed, but that's ... A long story? One about pirates and islands.

This isn't my first rodeo. I'll be fine.

Awesome!

I'm sure there are others, like the Doc, but most have been quiet about it, so far.

Huhn, Sounds like fun. We should hang out and swap stories sometime. I'll trade you dragons and Tortuga for your pirates and islands.

My uncle Charlie is a Dragonologist. And sorry ... I so have been to Tortuga.

No fair! But that's cool! Hmmm, how about Dinosaurs and zombies?

Knew someone who had a pet dinosaur and we had a zombie infestation, yeah.

Me too! Birds that repeat back someone else's voice, and candy that turns you into odd things?

And a train running underwater for a week while a giant octopus tries to examine you?

Hm, no on the birds. Yes on the candy.

No train, but I was on the Dutchman's ship.

And to think, I'm only 26.

Ever want a break somewhere dreadfully mundane?

I'm just 18 now. And I had one for three years. It was boring as heck! But not bad after a magical train and a castle in Hell.

Spent two years there, a castle on the outskirts of Hell. Not the best two years of my life.

I can imagine.

I ... know demons. Fallen angels, actually. When we had those shared dreams, I saw that place. Which is not somewhere I plan on ending up.

I was lucky, a few of the demons there were quietly rebelling. They kept me from being too... affected. But it was still a lot of running for my life, a lot of things I never, ever want to see again, and two years I would rather have spent almost anywhere else.

Good. It's... I can't even really describe it.

You know, I was tutored by Rosier?

He's ... funny. OCD. A fantastic salsa dancer. Fantastic teacher, okay librarian. Very handsome, extremely loyal. A fighter and definitely a rebel. Very faithful to his husband. And he's one of my best friends.

We met when I was a firstie at Hogwarts. We got sucked into a book together - Alice in Wonderland. Unfortunately, we both got to wear Alice's dress.

Hey, we made it out.

I believe they used to be a form of entertainment for wizards, until they got into Muggle hands.
