Open Broadcast
speaking softly

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

Oh Jesus Christ, don't do that again, okay? Not everyone around here is good with church stuff.

It's okay, you didn't know. Just don't do it again, yeah?

May I ask why you're so against it? Strictly out of curiosity.

It's your god that has a grudge against me.

Why would you think that?

The pain I feel when you nun up is not exactly voluntary.

Not at all. A little bittersweet, perhaps, considering the island and that, but not bad, no.

I understand. I miss Brooklyn, though I do like things about the island.

Aye, there are plenty good things about it right enough. The people are fair good, and there is much more freedom.

Huh. First time I've heard a nun use that version of the Lord's prayer.

I come from the year 1928, is there a more modern version that's used?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]jasonmurphy

It might be a modern thing or a religious difference. The only nuns I ever met were Roman Catholic so they used the Catholic version. They don't include the doxology as part of the Lord's prayer. Or at least they don't in 2009 when I'm from.

Being unorthodox is a good thing on the island.

I've been learning that. I also suppose you don't know any nuns that willingly learn of other religions?
