Like the mermaid said, there were two of you here before. One was pretty much you. Pure science and all that. The other was a shaman. Science and magic. He hooked up with a woman here and they had a baby. Thing is, they're both gone. The baby's being raised by somebody that looks just like me but isn't me and his sister. You won't believe me when I tell you their names.

I wouldn't recommend trying to take the kid away from them, but for all intents and purposes, she's your kid. Stark did a DNA test to make sure.
