Holly had promised Scott she'd check in on Kelly and Matt, and check in on them she was going to do. The events of last night were still playing on her mind and she felt more rested than she had done in a long time, just wrapped up in the familiarity that Scott brought. She knew he slept better when he wasn't alone, the company pushed away some of the worst memories of their time out in countries that needed help, not soldiers. And everything going on with his family he was struggling to keep that professional front; maintain his role as a handler and the priorities that came with that when all he wanted to do was throw in the towel and focus on his family. If she could take some of the load off him in that way, she would. The Deacon family didn't deserve what was happening to them right now, no one did, but she would do whatever she could to help. She thought about reaching out to Lucas, asking him to check in on his agents but then she knew she'd feel better if she did it herself. She could check in on Kelly, highlight anything to Lucas... She couldn't see Chloe, she wanted to but, at the same time, she worried too much that maybe she was overstepping a boundary with that. What boundary she wasn't sure, but she just felt like her meddling in that wasn't... appropriate. There was also the issue of her being a handler to Chloe's agent status. Holly was acutely aware of the power imbalance and under the circumstances, she was sure that Chloe was vulnerable enough without feeling like she had to talk to Holly because of her status as a handler and family friend. She pushed her hair behind her ear and tapped on Kelly's door, hoping that the other woman was in and hadn't already had breakfast. "Kelly?" she called, head tipped to the side slightly, "You in there?" |
