She'd called him babe and for a second, Ade stared at the words, wondering what sort of trick this was, but there was no trick. It might not have a label, but for now, Gwen was with him and he wasn't going to let a little things like former plans stop him from seeing her. He penned his reply without even thinking.

"Sorry, guys, something's come up," Adrian said, closing his journal. It had been his idea for a few of the boys from the team to come around for a bit of a poker night.

"Something or someone," came the retort from his fellow chaser, and Ade could just grin.

"Ditched for a woman!" the seeker said with a teasing laugh. "How the mighty have fallen."

"Yeah, yeah. Piss off, will you," Adrian said, and led his guests to the door. Once they were gone, he got busy cleaning up the kitchen, where'd they'd been playing, but when he heard the knock on the door, the table was still covered with cards, chips and empty glasses.

"Hey, baby," he greeted Gwen, so relieved that he could call her that, now, and even more relieved that he could kiss her whenever he wanted. Just like he did right now, and he pulled her into his arms to do just that.

"I - " Gwendolyn stopped and looked up at him. A concerned look crossed her face as she realised what he meant. "I thought maybe, after all this time, we could try again. You said it was because you were afraid of what you felt, and you're not anymore, right?" She chewed on her lower lip, her brow furrowing. "Maybe now we're adults it wouldn't affect you as much because it wouldn't change things between us." She shook her head and rested it back on his chest, looking off toward the far wall. "I'm sorry, it was just, heat of the moment. Never mind."

He took a moment to gather his thoughts then rolled them so he over her, his hands on either side of her face.

"I'm not. I know you don't want to hear it, but I love with you, Gwen and that's not going to change. For once, Gwen didn't cringe when he told her he loved her again. She nodded as he spoke, taking it all in. Whilst she knew how much it had affected him, it was still something that hadn't quite sunk in, but now that he looked at her like that, she didn't want to risk making him uncomfortable. It made her wonder briefly if he didn't like the fact that she still saw Pansy on occasion, not that she was going to ask at the moment.

"Are you sure?" She asked, looking up at him in concern. "I don't want you to hate me for it." After a moment, she slid her hands down his back, grabbing his arse. "Because a fantasy of mine is definitely watching you shag a man."

He'd been afraid when he said it, because he hated watching that look cross over her features, but it wasn't there. Maybe, she was getting used to the idea that he loved her. Maybe, soon, he wouldn't have to keep biting back those words when they were together.

"I could never hate you, baby. "Hmm, in that case we'll see." She said, with a teasing smile. In truth, she had no intentions on getting rid of Adrian anytime soon. She was probably playing with fire though, so she smiled and kissed him briefly. When he then reacted to her suggestion she laughed and arched her hips against his. "Okay then, we'll just have to spend a bit of time at clubs then see of we can tempt any strangers. Any other fantasies you have, or shall we do one at a time?"

In truth he was still mystified that she was trusting him with this, after all, she seemed to have all sorts of trust issues with him. Then again, the problems had never been about the sex. It always revolved around his feelings for her and how he'd been just too young to deal with them.

"We could go next weekend, if you want," he suggested, pushing against her again.

"Okay." Gwen said with a nod, arching against him once more. Her hips lifted at a slower pace, but almost instinctively against his. "Next weekend it is." It was kind of weird to think after all this time they were trying this again. It would be different this time though. She wasn't some silly child who was letting Adrian push her around, her happiness didn't depend upon his, and she wasn't afraid of him anymore. Granted, things were better between them when they were both happy, but she could always step away. Or so she told herself as she lifted her hips again. She wasn't helpless anymore. Would it be different this time? He wasn't afraid of how he felt but he was still afraid that he would lose her. She didn't love him, even if she didn't want him to be with other people. Of course, this time it was about him, not her, so he wasn't really worried about those possessive feelings taking over.

It took everything in her power not to get upset. He couldn't help how he felt about her, much as she couldn't help that she didn't feel the same for him. Of course she felt something stir inside her when they were together, but it wasn't the same.

So with breath, she said nothing, but kissed him again. Ignoring the slip was a much better idea, and she was just going to have to get used to hearing it, if she wanted to sleep with him, which she really did.

Whether she wanted to admit it or not, they belonged together. There was never any physical awkwardness between them, which was seemingly impossible to avoid sometimes, in his experience, but with Gwen, it was like she could read what he wanted, when he wanted and the way she moved against him drove him crazy.
