Marcus wasn't really sure why he cared at all. It wasn't like he was seeing Lily, and it wasn't like the Malfoy match was a bad one for the girl. If anything, it was a good, pureblooded match and certainly not something someone like him could top. They'd only been out the once, and then the Gala, hell he didn't even like to count the potion induced moments. Yet, the idea of the two of them together had made him more than a little angry. He'd sent her the owl out of frustration, hoping that at least it wouldn't look like he cared.

He did though, and it was frustrating trying to work out the reasons. Tamsin had a boyfriend and he was quite happy to continue seeing her on the side, on a near daily basis, but the idea o Lily and Malfoy annoyed him for reasons he could not yet understand. Maybe it was because he knew part of her actually liked him, or because he'd been sure he'd been in there with a shot. In the end, he'd asked, no demanded, that Lily pop over. This way at least he could take his frustrations out on her.
