WHO: Lilly Desange & Illyana Rasputina
WHAT: Looking for Mama.
WHEN: Mid-afternoon.
WHERE: The park, to start with.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
NOTES: Some spoilers for "Mama" are behind the cut. Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

After spending the night with people she didn't know, even if they seemed perfectly nice, Lilly had woken with the determination to find Mama. Crawling out from underneath the bed she'd been given, as Lilly hadn't slept in an actual bed since she was one and wasn't going to start now, she had made her way to the nearest window and peered outside. Mama was out there, somewhere. Lilly just knew it. Maybe even Victoria, too. She just had to find them. Then, they could all go away together and be a family again.

Ignoring the small voice in the back of her mind that whispered she wasn't supposed to use the window, but rather the stairs, when she wanted to go outside, Lilly did precisely that. A few moments later, she was on the streets. Almost immediately, someone noticed her and tried to approach. Which a loud screech, coupled with a swiping of her hand as though she were some sort of wild cat trying to claw them to pieces, she had scurried away as quickly as she could. A few moments of running later, the yards she was cutting through went away and Lilly found herself at the entrance of a place that made her really and truly smile.

Trees. There were trees everywhere! Giggling, she reached out and ran her fingers down the trunk of the nearest one, craning her neck to peer up at its top. The leaves were mostly gone, the branches covered in a light smattering of snow. The look was so similar to that of the forest that she'd called home that Lilly felt positively giddy just looking at it. Mama was here. She just knew it.

"Mama?" she called out, making her way with steadied steps further into the park. She caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of her eye and, smiling, turned toward it. "Mama!" she exclaimed, running toward whatever was up ahead. Unfortunately, as she drew closer, she realized it wasn't her mama but was just a playground, filled with giggling children having a snowball fight. Lilly whined in the back of her throat then immediately dropped into a crouch amidst the snow-covered shrubbery in order to hide when a few kids turned toward her. With a wary gaze, she watched as one of the adults began moving toward her hiding spot.

By the time they reached where she was crouched, though, Lilly was already gone. Back through the trees, deeper into the park, she ran and ran and ran until she finally reached a clearing. Coming to a stop in the middle of it, the six-year-old turned in a slow circle and peered upward with a curious gaze. "Mama?" she tried again, head tilting a bit as she listened for any sort of response. When there was none, Lilly's lower lip trembled and she sniffled as she slowly dropped into a crouch in the snow. She was going to stay there, she decided, until Mama found her.

Hearing the crackling of underbrush as someone approached, Lilly glanced over her shoulder with wide, curious eyes. She held her breath, prepared to bolt at the first sign of danger or trouble, but stayed where she was until the interloper revealed themselves. After all, for all she knew, it could easily be Victoria coming back with a promise to never leave her and Mama ever, ever again.

With wide, unblinking eyes, Lilly stared at the stick for a long moment. Her gaze slowly slid up to Illyana, then back to the stick, as she inched forward and slowly extended her hand toward the stick. Much like an animal, she was obviously on edge and fully prepared to scurry back out of reach at the first sign of danger. When there was no immediate move to grab her, though, she finally wrapped her fingers around the stick and very, very slowly stood up fully.

Curiosity shone brightly in her eyes, was etched all over her face, really, as she looked back to Illyana and quizzically tilted her head to the side as though asking 'now what?'.

Honestly, Illyana expected Lilly to snatch the stick out of her hand and dart away with it, so it surprised her when Lilly took the slow approach instead. She loosened her grip to let Lilly take the stick. Eyes on Lilly, she gestured towards the snow and mimed drawing with the stick. "Lilly do."

She was careful to be slow taking out her PDA so that Lilly could see that it wasn't anything to be afraid of, then she started scrolling through the network for any recent activity from any of the Avengers.

[OOC: I'm assuming this post coincides with Lilly's disappearance despite the posting date? Surely not gone days without it being noticed :) ]

At the instructions, Lilly smiled and immediately dropped back to her haunches. Letting her PDA drop into the snow beside her, she slid her fingers back into her mouth and idly sucked on them while dragging the stick she now held through the snow. For a few moments, she stared intently at her makeshift canvass while scrawling out three stick figures each varying in size. They were on all fours and in the middle of the trees Illyana had drawn a moment earlier.

Of course, no one had any way of knowing that Lilly was drawing the same three stick figures she had drawn, alongside her sister, for her entire life. They represented the two of them, and Mama of course, and just the familiar sight was enough to make her giggle softly. Peering up at Illyana, she smiled again. "Lilly," she said, tapping the stick beside the smallest of the figures. "Victoria," she tacked on as she pointed out the middle one. "Mama," she added in a matter-of-fact tone as she motioned toward the largest. Then she tapped the trees. "Home."

Then her attention dropped immediately back to her drawing, although she did glance up with a curious expression every few seconds as Illyana used the PDA, wondering who the woman was contacting but not really caring enough to try to ask.

[ooc: Oh yes, definitely! Ashe was just away for the weekend and unable to post it at the appropriate time but it definitely takes place not too long after Lilly left the Tower. XD]

Illyana peered at the "drawings". A Western, earthling children might use crayons to draw a picture of home, complete with a house and stick figure family. They would probably sit at a table to do it, or maybe lie down on the floor. In Colligo, there were no guarantees that Lilly was even from an earthly plane. Lilly hadn't included anything like a cabin in the woods... if home was the woods, that would certainly account for Lilly's animalistic behavior and limited spoken language.

She pointed to the middle figure and asked, "Victoria sister?" No "papa" in the picture, Illyana noticed.

After sending a brief message, she resumed watching Lilly make pictures.

Lilly nodded slightly, a faint, slightly sorrowful smile on her face as she peered down at the drawing of Victoria. "Victoria stay," she said softly. Sniffling softly, a tear sliding down her cheek, she seemed to shake the negative memories off a moment later and busied herself doing another drawing. This one was of a cliff, where she carefully drew the largest stick figure as well as the smallest one, standing near the edge. In the distance, she drew the middle sized figure.

Peering up at Illyana, she motioned toward them. "Mama. Lilly. Go. Victoria stay," she tried her best to explain. Then she glanced at Illyana's PDA, back to Illyana, and tilted her head slightly to the size once again in a quizzical manner.

The drawings helped; with a more complex subject, it was more difficult to understand what Lilly was communicating. If she understood right, Lilly's family got split up-- what a cliff had to do with it, Illyana couldn't quite tell. Asaph did bring the dead here. Perhaps there had been an accident with a cliff?

She gave Lilly a brief look at her PDA. "Lilly safe. Illyana tell Clint." She hoped that was simplified enough.

The drawings were still puzzling her, so she pointed to the cliff and gave Lilly a questioning look of her own.

[OOC: I read a summary of the film, so just a heads-up that no worries about spoilers from you :) ]
