It didn't seem like that much of a prolonged wait for...well, Batgirl. He was continuously trying to wrap his brain around everything that had just been told to him. More so that there was a chance he was some sort of fictional character on this planet. It wasn't something that made his life as easy going as he would have wanted it to be. Aaron felt sort of in the dark -- something he was used to but nothing he ever liked feeling anyway. His orders typically came from a faceless figure who told him where to go, what to do, and when to do it. In that order, sometimes he really didn't follow those orders. A part of him was glad he didn't listen much to "the man" as much as he listened to himself. He...had gotten the opportunity to get out of a horrible situation which had turned his life upside down. He...had decided not to go the way of the other Outcome agents that he figured were dead by now.

He cared little about them. The thought of Marta being back where they were crossed his mind more than once already. Aaron could adapt to any situation he was given. He wasn't so sure about the doctor however. The last thing he remembered was hitting the ground before waking up in the library. His body still felt the damage; the bruises and road rash he had gotten were still healing. Faster than it would for a normal person, but it still took time. He wasn't some weird ass mutant who healed automatically. He was just...better than other people. When he was waiting for Steph, he had eyes on everyone who walked past him. Some people could observe it as a slight sign of paranoia. Others could see it as someone who was just a little lost. It was really both of those combined.

There was a slight sigh of relief when he saw the flash of blonde hair. For a moment, he was considering this entire thing to be just a trap. Something Aaron had easily fallen into. He was expecting Byer to show up or someone associated to him to put a bullet through his eyes and kill the project finally. The tension hadn't been released in his body at all as he pushed himself from the wall, hands tucked in his jacket pockets. "...I was starting to think I was about to be stood up." He flashed a grin over to her, ignoring the slight pain coming from his leg.

Steph knew it was very possibly stupid to go running off to meet some guy she didn't know, who was apparently bleeding from a gunshot wound, for waffles. For all she knew, he was a bad guy who had been shot for a very good reason, and she was about to be alone - or as alone as one could get in a public place - with a crazy, evil person. She liked to think Clint's doppelgänger wouldn't be crazy or evil, but she'd learned in this place that you couldn't judge solely based on faces. Okay, she'd learned this mostly from movies she'd watched, but it still counted. For example, the guy who played Bruce in one of the many Batman movies that apparently existed also played a batshit crazy serial killer in another movie. Clearly, Bruce's face wasn't always safe to trust. Similarly, Aaron wasn't a good guy just because he looked like an Avenger.

Still, she'd always been the kind of person to keep an open mind and this wasn't going to be any different. After all, if she just went by what popular opinion said, she wouldn't be friends with Raven. And Raven was one of the best people she'd ever met. So, clearly, she just needed to make her own judgment and stick with that, because her judgments were completely awesome and flawless. Well, mostly flawless. She had dated Damian, after all. And Tim. And both of those ended up being phenomenally bad ideas. She just needed to add Jason to the list - not Dick, because he was Babs's ex and that was a world of no - and she'd have a hat trick of poor decisions involving Robins. New rule. No dating Robins. Ever. But she was getting distracted. The point was, she was going to meet Aaron with an open mind and hopefully have a cute new friend who she totally had dibs on. Good? Good.

She checked to make sure that she had the first aid supplies she needed, then made her way to the library. Spotting Aaron, she made her way up the steps and gave him a cheeky grin. "I promise I'm worth the wait," she assured him, before she found herself distracted by the blood on his left leg, presumably the gunshot wound he'd been talking about. "Okay, sit your very nice ass down. Is the bullet still in there?" Why yes, she fully intended on doing this here. What? It's not like the locals were going to say anything. She was pretty sure they'd seen both worse and weirder.
