It didn't seem like that much of a prolonged wait for...well, Batgirl. He was continuously trying to wrap his brain around everything that had just been told to him. More so that there was a chance he was some sort of fictional character on this planet. It wasn't something that made his life as easy going as he would have wanted it to be. Aaron felt sort of in the dark -- something he was used to but nothing he ever liked feeling anyway. His orders typically came from a faceless figure who told him where to go, what to do, and when to do it. In that order, sometimes he really didn't follow those orders. A part of him was glad he didn't listen much to "the man" as much as he listened to himself. He...had gotten the opportunity to get out of a horrible situation which had turned his life upside down. He...had decided not to go the way of the other Outcome agents that he figured were dead by now.
He cared little about them. The thought of Marta being back where they were crossed his mind more than once already. Aaron could adapt to any situation he was given. He wasn't so sure about the doctor however. The last thing he remembered was hitting the ground before waking up in the library. His body still felt the damage; the bruises and road rash he had gotten were still healing. Faster than it would for a normal person, but it still took time. He wasn't some weird ass mutant who healed automatically. He was just...better than other people. When he was waiting for Steph, he had eyes on everyone who walked past him. Some people could observe it as a slight sign of paranoia. Others could see it as someone who was just a little lost. It was really both of those combined.
There was a slight sigh of relief when he saw the flash of blonde hair. For a moment, he was considering this entire thing to be just a trap. Something Aaron had easily fallen into. He was expecting Byer to show up or someone associated to him to put a bullet through his eyes and kill the project finally. The tension hadn't been released in his body at all as he pushed himself from the wall, hands tucked in his jacket pockets. "...I was starting to think I was about to be stood up." He flashed a grin over to her, ignoring the slight pain coming from his leg.
