WHO: Justin Taylor and OPEN
WHAT: Walking Escher in the park
WHEN: Wednesday August 15th; Early Afternoon
WHERE: The park
STATUS: In Progress

After having been stuck inside for the last week, Justin was glad to finally spend some time outside and had gotten up early the last two days to take Escher out, but had chosen to sleep in a little today considering he'd be working tonight, but planned on spending as long as possible at the park before he had to go back to his apartment. He was grateful to Ashley for letting him stay at the Sanctuary again during the fear toxin thing, glad that he hadn't had to be alone in his apartment where anything could have happened during that time. He'd been dreading knowing that when he came back, Jonathan would want to talk to him, but he appeared to have dodged that bullet completely, because if what Melinda said was correct, Jonathan had been sent home completely. After receiving that invitation Monday night, Jonathan was the only person that had come to mind as to who the sender could have been and while he knew that Ashley would likely give him that look, he had wanted to contact him just to find out for sure if it had been him. However, now he didn't have to and he could move on and forget the whole thing with Jonathan had ever happened.

He still felt like a fool for believing that he could have changed, but that was one Justin's flaws; he tried to see the good in practically everyone. Though considering what he'd been through with Chris Hobbs and the bombing at Babylon, why he had thought that someone like Jonathan, who was at the end of the day a villain, could change was beyond him. He should have seen him for what he was in the first place and steered clear. He should have listened to the warnings from Enigma, but he hadn't and now he just had to make better decisions in the future. It was times like these where he really missed Arthur, Eames and Ariadne. But even if they weren't there, he still had Escher to remind him or them. Escher who was currently attempting to chase some squirrels even though he was on his leash.

If David had been here, the first thing Joe would've done would be to explain to him just why being Orga was a bad idea, real love from one's mother figure or not.. The gas that had invaded everyone's lungs and caused mass paranoia (and a plunge in his time spent with clients temporarily) had of course bypassed him. Good for not breathing.. Orga were fragile creatures, though he hoped quite a few of them made it out of that sticky situation in one piece, he would've missed them otherwise...

Splayed out sitting on a park bench, an arm draped over the wooden back, Joe watched the people out enjoying their new freedom. Spotting what looked like a dog, though he had only seen a few of them in his seven years of existence, being led around on a rope, Joe sat up just a little bit straighter eyebrow lifting and plastic forehead crinkling slightly. "Excuse me!" He spoke up towards the man, pointing at the dog. "What is that? Is it a dog?"

Justin glanced over at the man on the bench, raising his brows slightly at the question, "Yeah. Yeah, it's a dog. Have you never seen one before?" It didn't take Justin long to figure out that this guy had to be a non-local and considering his question, it was possible that he was from a place where dogs were scarce or something along those lines. "You're not from around here, are you?" He asked, walking a little closer to the bench, Escher wandering over in front of him to sniff at the man a little bit before letting out a soft bark.

"I've heard of them, seen a few artificial versions, mostly cosmetic mock-ups." Joe admitted, watching the fuzzy four-legged creature curiously as he scooted forward a bit on the bench, forearms resting casually on bent knees.

"Of course I'm not." Joe began, still fascinated by the dog, even as it barked and sniffed at him. "None of us are..." He focused his attention back on the man, head tilting a fraction. "We're all too unique to be mere everyday locals." He smiled.

Justin listened to the man as he spoke, brows rising slightly as he talked, "Artificial versions? Have you been here very long?" He couldn't see how anyone who had been in Colligo for long wouldn't have seen animals considering they were pretty much all over the place. "Or have you just not gotten out much?" Escher was busy sniffing at the man, tail wagging as he tried to get a feel for him.

"I guess you're right about that," While Justin was just a regular human, it was true that he and the other non-locals who were just human were far from normal.

"I've been out plenty." Joe remarked offhandedly. "Around the town and all that," this was illustrated by a small wave of a hand off in a random direction. "But I've yet to see all of the breeds. This one, yours, it's new." He clicked his tongue over at the dog with a half a smile, reaching down to let the dog sniff at his artificial fingers.

"Well this is Escher. He was my friends' dog, but they got sent home, so I took him in." Justin stooped down to scratch the black dog's head as he sniffed at the man's fingers, recalling when Eames, Ariadne and Arthur had gotten Escher and how much smaller he'd been only a year ago. Sure, he missed them whenever he looked at the dog, but he held out hope that perhaps they'd be back someday. Escher's head cocked as he looked at the man seated on the bench, realizing that there was definitely something off about him. I'm Justin, by the way."
