Sirius wasn't exactly the best at keeping still and being cooped up inside on a regular day. When he was just getting over the fact that he wasn't going to be locked up for the rest of his life, getting him to stay inside was more or less impossible. He'd quickly scrawled Remus a note explaining where he'd gone, promising to be back in a couple of hours for the moon, and had apparated away to meet the red-headed girl he'd been chatting to over the network. It never really occurred to Sirius to worry about meeting strangers, even with all the mentals who ended up in Colligo. He was pretty used to taking care of himself, and if he was honest, the worst thing that could happen to him had already taken place. What more did he have to be afraid of?

He arrived in the street with a faint pop, nearly giving some poor old dear a heart attack. Sirius shot her what he hoped with a reassuring smile, although it probably came across as just alarming, and looked around for the girl with the odd name. Finally he caught a flash of the red hair, and had to fight back the image of Lily lying cold on the nursery floor. The memories didn't seem to want to leave him, even though he'd seen Lils and the baby only last night. He didn't think they ever would, and that thought made his stomach twist painfully.

Shaking his head to try and remove the image, the young Wizard shoved his hands into his pockets and loped towards the figure. He bloody hoped it was the right girl, anyway, or he was about to yell at a random. Oh well. It was all worth a shot.

"Oi! Red!"

"You're a wizard, can't you turn back time?" she teased. "And completely, not even a boyfriend back home to pine away over. Then again, most guys in mine line of work don't live long and those outside of it tend not to be interested in people like me," she said with a shrug. "Either the crazy puts them off or the fact I kill people,"

Sirius snorted. "Doesn't quite work that way," he admitted. "Plus, I don't have a wand at the moment, so..." He wriggled his eyebrows playfully in her direction. It was easier to make a joke of the whole thing, after all. Easier than admit how it felt, having them snap it in front of his eyes and shove him away into some dank, dark pit. He held back a shudder, staring instead into the collection of colourful treats in the cabinet.

Then she spoke again and Sirius' head snapped round to face her, gaze searching out any hint of a lie or joke in the young, pretty features. Had she actually killed people? He'd been arrested for mass murder, but he'd been innocent. And there were Death Eaters that probaably hadn't come off too well from clashes with the Order but... Sirius frowned at her. "Eh?" he asked. Perhaps he'd misunderstood.

Enigma, for all that she played it off, wasn't an idiot. He tried to hide it but she could see a flash of pain across his face as he spoke of his wand and she gave his hand a gentle squeeze, not pushing the subject, unwilling to force more pain on him.

"Eh...what?" she asked, looking up at him, curling one of her pigtails around a finger. "Don't tell me you're judgmental too, that would be such a disappointment."
