WHAT: Katniss is wandering.
WHERE: Around the city. Starting outside the apartments.
WHEN: Early evening.

Katniss had been Colligo for a little while now. And while at first, her new surroundings were very strange and something that she'd never been used to, she slowly found herself adjusting. She'd taken time to figure out the PDA that had been given to her where she could post to the network and check it when she needed to. She had figured out some of the things in her apartment that she wasn't familiar with. She was trying to find a job, and she was attempting to make some friends, something that she'd never been really good with. Katniss had managed to make herself a bow and fashion some arrows out of various materials, and went off to go hunting in the woods every morning...though she got the feeling that here, she wouldn't have to live off of squirrels and birds she had to kill, skin, gut, and cook herself. Once she got a job, she probably wouldn't have to hunt as much. Though she might do so anyway.

Currently though, Katniss was finally taking sometime to really explore her home. She hadn't really gotten a chance to properly get to familiarize herself with her surroundings, and it was time that she changed that. Katniss grabbed her PDA, and headed out of her apartment, locking the door behind her. She made her way out of the building, and started down the street.

Ever since Edmund and Dawn had been sent home, Max had been hanging around the Sanctuary a lot more; occasionally going out to stretch her wings, so that she wouldn't go completely stir crazy. Everyday she had hoped that she'd wake up and there'd be a post from Ed, saying that he'd come back or from Dawn, but each morning it was the same people or new people who weren't Dawn or Ed. Sure, there were other teenagers in Colligo, but she had been much closer to the both of them and really, Max wasn't exactly the best at making friends. For fourteen years it had just been her and her Flock and then she'd been brought to Colligo and everything had been different. She'd actually liked living there and while she still did, because she really did care about her Colligo family at the Sanctuary, she just really missed Ed and Dawn.

After sitting on the roof over her bedroom window for a few hours, she'd decided to take to the skys and had circled around the city for a little while before landing in the park and walking towards the street. She didn't really have a destination, but figured she'd walk until she was tired and then head back to the Sanctuary and get some sleep.

Katniss just kept her hands in her pockets as she made her way down the street. She saw people walk by her, but she really didn't go out of her way to say anything to them, just made sure that she didn't bump into anyone or anything. While Katniss was trying to make some friends, it was the putting herself out in the open that made her feel awkward. She had very few friends back home, and the friends she did have she sort of just clicked with for various reasons that she really couldn't explain.

And while Katniss really wasn't paying attention to the people around her, she did notice when a girl about her age just flew out of nowhere out to the street. She paused, and couldn't help but be a little awed.

So awed, that she'd didn't even notice when she walked right into her.

Max probably should have been watching where she landed, but she'd been distracted by her thoughts and hadn't seen the other girl when she'd begun walking and of course it resulted in a collision. "Crap. I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Max straightened her shirt as she pulled her wings in tight to her back, aware of the fact that this girl had probably seen them. It wasn't that she was at all self conscience of her wings, in fact she could care less what anyone else thought about them and hid them a lot less, wearing clothes now that accommodated them better than she had back home considering they'd had to do with what they'd had, which hadn't been a whole lot.

When she got a good look at the other girl, at first she thought it was Raven from the mansion, but then she realized that it was the other girl who looked like her, whose name she didn't actually know, "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Guess I shouldn't walk when I'm distracted. You are alright, right?"

	"I'm fine," Katniss said, keeping her eyes fixed on where Max's wings had been. She'd never seen anything like it...at least not a person. She'd seen muttiations made to look like people...but this girl didn't seem to be a mutt to her. "It's okay," Katniss said, attempting to give her a small smile. "I'm fine. Are you?" Max could tell that Katniss didn't have her full attention on her, but on her wings and Max couldn't help but be a little amused, "It's my wings, right? You're wondering if you were seeing things." Glancing around, to make sure that there weren't very many people around, Max spread her wings to their full fourteen foot wingspan. Back home she never would have dared to expose herself like this in public, but considering more of the locals tended to ignore them and the fact that there were no Erasers after her, she didn't see the harm in letting Katniss get a better look. After all, Dawn had gotten her wings for a short time and Ed saw them on a regular basis when they'd hung out. "And yeah, I'm fine. I think we would have had to have run into each other at full speed to hurt ourselves."

Katniss shook her head, snapping out of her trance. "Sorry," she said. "I'm not trying to stare or anything. I've just never seen anything like them before. At least, not on a person." She felt like she was being rude now. But still, there were a lot of things in Colligo that Katniss had never even heard of before arriving, and it was all very new to her, and a little bit strange. "I'm Katniss, by the way." She smiled. She might as well introduce herself while they were both standing there.

"Don't worry about it. I know that a girl with wings is strange to most people," After another moment or two, Max retracted her wings and pulled them in close to her back so they were only visible from the back. "I'm Max." She was still getting used to there being so many people her own age around, that Max was still a little awkward around other teens. With Ed and Dawn, she'd gotten to know them well enough that there was no reason to feel awkward around them, but when it came to new people, Max didn't know what to say, "I hope you weren't in a hurry to get anywhere and now I've made you late." Of course Katniss didn't seem like she was in a hurry, unless she was so dumbfounded by Max's wings that she'd forgotten what she had been doing before they'd bumped into one another.

"There's still a lot of things here I'm not used to seeing that are strange to me," Katniss said. The only things she saw like this back home were muttations. And she didn't want to be reminded of back home. Not right now. It would be one thing if Peeta or Gale were in the city with her...but they weren't. "I wasn't." Katniss shifted a little. She was really awkward with new people, and it showed.

"Oh good. I'd hate to think that bumping into me made you late for something," Max ran a hand through her straight blond hair then gathered it back into a ponytail and secured it with the elastic that had been around her wrist, "So, where were you going?" She asked, realizing that she was probably prying, but once again, Max had a tendency to be a little awkward around new people.

	"Nowhere," Katniss said. "I was just doing a little exploring. ....Not that that's really going nowhere. Just no set destination." Damn, she sucked at conversing with people. "So then we were going to the same place," Max said, referring to nowhere and the fact that they had both been wandering, "I was getting restless sitting at home and needed to get out for a little while. I had no set destination either, so if you didn't mind, maybe we could go nowhere together. Beats doing it alone." Max shrugged, wondering how Katniss would respond. Max didn't normally just invite herself along with strangers, but she was beyond tired of being alone.
