WHO: The Master & Molly Suresh
WHAT: The Master thinks Molly will be useful for information and thus, goes to get some.
WHEN: May 3rd; Afternoon
WHERE: The Student Activity Centre
RATING: PG
STATUS: In Progress

It really was the best situation the Master thought that he could hope for in a place like this. Cut off from the sort of resources that he tended to have, without the ability to lay a trap or disguise himself in some way that the Doctor wouldn't immediately recognize him, the next best thing really was getting his hands on one of the Doctor's companions just to insert his superiority over his old friend. There was also a lot of potential information that this young woman could provide him with if she was honestly incapable of not being honest. If this television show really did show everything that the Doctor did, that he had done, the Master could use her knowledge to get one step ahead of his old friend, to figure out how the Doctor would foil one of his next plots, and correct the issues so that it wasn't so easily undone. He'd have to go back to his own time soon enough, after all, and then, then, he would have the advantage.

Heading to where this Molly had told him that she would be, the Master closed the distance between the two of them with a playful smile, "And this is much better. There's something to a face to face conversation that just isn't there in communication via any type of device," He said, climbing the stairs slowly with a devious glint in his eye. "Particularly in the ability to ask questions without the delay in between them. So, tell me, my dear. Just what weaknesses of the Doctor can I exploit?" He asked with a bit of a chuckle. "Other than his friend, of course. I've known that one for awhile."

A look of relief crossed Molly's features when the Doctor finally arrived. The longer she sat there, watching as the Master continued to be a victim to his own hypnotism, the more guilty she began to feel. It wasn't as though she hadn't intended to have this happen to him. She had used the mirror knowing there was every chance this was what would take place. But deciding to do it and following through, as well as seeing the end result, were two very different things.

Still. As much as she wanted to flee the moment she was given an out, Molly found herself unable to do so. "I'm staying," she decided almost before she'd realized she'd even made up her mind. Stepping back to give the Doctor and Master some room, she continued speaking courtesy of the compulsion to tell the entire truth now that she'd been asked a question.

"I may not want to stay," she admitted, "but I think I need to do it. I feel bad enough as it is. If I don't see this through, I'm only going to wind up feeling like I left it unfinished." A brief pause before she gave the Doctor a small smile and added, "Besides. A small part of me wants to be here when he realizes what's happened."

Was it petty? Yes. But as her gaze slid back to the Master, and even as her heart swelled with pity for him, Molly couldn't help but feel a bit vindicated that she - a lowly human - had managed to one-up the guy.

The Master might not have been too wholly aware of his surroundings without orders to follow, but he did realize when someone else joined the area, his gaze sweeping up and over the other female form with a hint of confusion before turning his attention back to Molly with a bit of pleading in his tone, "Master. Give me purpose." The second he was back in himself, he would regret those words, any words that he had spoken in this state, because he had placed the responsibility for himself in the hands of another. He had never considered what it was like for those that he controlled, had never really cared, and while it wasn't likely to change his actions to know know what it felt like, it would certainly make him a bit more cautious when attempting to hypnotize someone now.

He'd hate to have to end up a whimpering slave again. He'd have to figure out a less direct method of doing so, so way that would give him the same results without putting his own mind at risk.

Lulling his gaze back over to the other female present, not aware enough in his mind to recognize her as the Doctor even though he had seen him in this way earlier, the Master's expression hardened as he tensed and slowly pushed himself back closer to the TARDIS wall to try and get away from this stranger. Not until he had his order. Not until he knew whether this was a friend or foe.

The Doctor gave Molly a brilliant smile at her words. Most people wouldn't have felt at all guilty for what had happened, seeing as the Master had been the one trying to attack her and his own actions had backfired, but that was what he liked about Molly. She was a genuinely good person who didn't like to see people in pain even if it was their own doing. She was a brilliant example of what humanity ought to be, the best that they ought to be, and he couldn't help but wish that more people could be like her. As much as part of him wanted to keep her safe from the Master, he was glad that she wanted to stay. Besides, he was quite curious to see what she would do once the Master was back to himself.

"If that's what you want, then feel free to stay," he said. "You have every right to be here when he realises that his...well...frankly ridiculous plan was foiled by a human. No offence, of course. I know you're brilliant. But he has opinions about humans. And they aren't very nice ones. Anyway...it's nice to have someone else here." He didn't want to admit it, but he didn't really like the idea of being alone in enemy territory, even if that wasn't normally what he would consider this any more.

"Hush," he said, turning his attention to the Master. It was a bit sad, seeing him like this. The Master had always been so clever, one of the only people who was a real match for him, and seeing him so blank and empty and dull was just a bit tragic. He wanted to fix it, even if it was perhaps safer to have the Master this way for the moment. Even knowing, logically, that the other Time Lord was a threat, he couldn't bring himself to leave him like that. Luckily, it was something of an easy fix. Sighing, he stepped over to the Master and brought his hands up to the sides of his face, closing his eyes as he did so and concentrating.

It was a bit like jump-starting a car, or so he assumed since he'd never actually done that. But he'd seen people do so and it seemed similar enough. He focused on connecting his own mind to the Master's, using it to give the other man's brain something of a hard reboot. There were probably other ways to go about it, but this seemed the simplest and safest. Pulling away after a long moment, the Doctor just gave the Master a look. "You know," he said sternly, "if you really wanted to see me so badly, you could have invited me over for tea. You certainly didn't have to resort to involving my friends in frankly idiotic schemes."

The Master wasn't comfortable in the sudden, close proximity of this stranger, but as he felt the familiar mind touch his own, the sudden jolt sending a shockwave through him and clearing away the fog that had settled over his mind. Had it not been the Doctor, the Master would have responded violently, lashing out mentally, but the confusion that he was filtering out of kept him from doing so until the mind was already out of his reach. "Come now, my dear Doctor," The Master drawled, raising a hand to run over the front of his face. "Would you really expect any less from me? When have I ever just asked nicely?" He asked, glancing up at the oddly female face in front of him with a bit of a smirk. "And if I may say, you look lovely, a bit mousey, but that's not horribly surprising."

Stretching and pushing himself up against the wall, the Master was able to get to his feet, turning his attention slowly to Molly before shifting his gaze around the TARDIS, "How long was I out?" He asked, turning his attention slowly to the Doctor. "How did you get here so fast?"

It took a long moment for it to click in the Master's mind because it seemed so impossible, so outlandish, but as he glance between the two people here with him, he slowly pushed past them and over to the console to check and make sure he wasn't just imagining it. "We've moved. How have we moved?" He asked, sounding absolutely baffled and annoyed. "What did you do?" The question was asked, pointedly, a sharp glare at the human girl that he'd taken with him. Humans weren't supposed to be able to fly TARDISes. And even if she managed it by some goof, it was impossible to tell how much damage she could have done.

Molly felt relief wash over her as the Master seemed to slowly return to normal. Of course, that relief quickly turned to irritation as she all too quickly remembered that normal for the Master also tended to equal egotistical and downright obnoxious. It wasn't that she expected to be thanked, or anything equally ridiculous, but to have him suddenly get angry at her when all she had done was help him as quickly as possible made her bristle slightly. Fortunately, Molly was rather good at hiding her annoyance when the situation warranted it, so it was with a surprisingly even tone that she answered him.

"I flew your TARDIS to the Doctor and parked beside him," she stated. "Then I contacted the Doctor and asked him to come over and help you." As she spoke, she'd stepped a bit closer with each word so that, by the time she'd stopped explaining, she was standing well within reaching distance. Finally, she unfolded her arms and did something that she very, very rarely did.

She slapped him across the face.

"That," she stated flatly, "is for trying to hypnotize me. And if you accuse me of having done anything bad to your TARDIS, I'm going to slap you again on the sheer principle of the matter."

That said, she then glanced to the Doctor and smiled. "Thank you," she said sincerely. "I really do appreciate the assistance, Doctor."

The Master was flirting. He was honestly flirting. The Doctor frowned, giving him another look. "Stop that!" he said indignantly, glaring at the other Time Lord. "It's not funny. It's not at all funny!" Why on Earth, and several other places, did he bother putting up with the Master? He was frustrating and infuriating and not nearly as clever as he seemed to think he was. He really wished he could just follow Molly's lead and smack him, but he was rather certain that wouldn't go over especially well. Still, he wanted to, what with how he was being and the way he was acting toward Molly. She was his friend and, moreover, she had just helped the Master. The least the man could do was show a bit of gratitude. Honestly. It wasn't that hard.

"She flew the TARDIS," the Doctor said with a roll of his eyes, "like I showed her. Then she sent me a message to meet her. And, considering where she brought Lo, she had to have looked for me...which is not pleasant for her. So maybe you could stop being such a prat and thank her. That's really all that needs to come out of your mouth, I think. Thank you. And maybe an apology for going and kidnapping her and trying to mind control her and...really, Master...that was your plan? Kidnapping and mind-control and...when has that ever actually worked? I'll tell you when. Never. It never works. I swear...it's like...it's like you're a child sometimes." He was very frustrated right then, but he spared a glance at Molly. "You're quite welcome, Molly," he said calmly, with a small fond smile. "Any time...well, not any time, because that makes it sound like you're going to make a habit of this, and I sincerely hope you don't. But you know what I mean."

It was always the women who saw fit to lash out at him. The only thing that he could be thankful for was that this wasn't lethal. He wasn't sure what he would have done without another body ready and able to take over if she had decided to kill him. Anger boiling in his system at the slap, though, the Master had been ready to strike her back before a sudden flare of electricity from the console stilled his hand. In the Doctor's TARDIS, the Master might have otherwise dismissed it as faulty wiring or something else prompted by his friend's inability to repair his TARDIS properly, but in his own, there was absolutely no denying that Lo was upset with him. And while she did tend to get upset with him often enough, it took something rather major to set her off like that, and there was no denying in his mind that while he might not understand why fully, Molly was now completely off limits to him. He wouldn't want to upset his girl anymore than he already had.

Frowning and quietly rubbing the burn that the electricity had lashed over his hand, he glanced between the two people present, listening to the Doctor's words but not really taking them in. Apologize? Yeah, right. Like that was ever going to happen. His apologies amounted to not killing people after they irritated him, and that would be just as much as Molly would get from him.

"Compared to you, old man, I am," The Master said with a hint of amusement in his features as he glanced over at the Doctor. "Or, should I say old maid? It's so hard to tell with you all gussied up like this," He said before sparing a glance at Molly as he rubbed his hand again. "And I suppose if Lo was willing to let you pilot her, I shouldn't be too angry that you did so. As long as you didn't crash," He said with a quirk of an eyebrow before turning back to the Doctor. "Teaching humans to fly the TARDIS? Really? This is what you do now?"

Although Molly was just a human, she was unquestionably an intelligent one and, furthermore, had seen enough of Doctor Who in her lifetime to recognize the shock the Master had been given for what it was. With a small, grateful smile meant for his TARDIS, she arched an eyebrow in his direction when he finally, grudgingly, admitted that being furious with her wasn't in his best interest and didn't make much sense.

"Of course she was willing," she replied evenly, as though it were terribly obvious as to the reason why. For her, it was. "I was trying to help you, after all." Then she looked to the Doctor. "And while I appreciate your attempts to get him to apologize, we both know that isn't going to happen, Doctor. But thank you for trying, just the same."

Moving to where she'd discarded her PDA earlier, she picked it up then looked back to both of the Time Lords. "Now, if you'll both excuse me, I..." She paused. "Well, I don't actually have anywhere I need to be, but I don't want to be here anymore than I have to." And with that being said, she turned and made her way toward the exit, smiling fondly as the door swung open for her.

All-in-all, she decided, as far as kidnappings went, that one hadn't been too bad.

The Doctor couldn't help but grin when Lo berated the Master by way of electrical shock. It was just like Molly to endear herself to the Master's TARDIS in the short time it took them to travel to meet with his own. She really was an extraordinary example of humanity, and he kept finding himself more and more impressed as time went on. It was nice, to find a human who never really disappointed him. For all that he adored humanity, they did have such a bad habit of not living up to what they could be. He never had to worry about that with Molly though. It was refreshing.

"I know he won't," the Doctor said, "but he really ought to and I'll probably keep trying even if it is a bit futile." When Molly indicated her desire to leave, he nodded. "Yes, of course. Go ahead. I'm sure your friends are worried. But we should really do something soon. Just the two of us. Once things settle down a bit. An adventure...but a mostly tame one. With...running, but not an overabundance of danger. Yes...that sounds good."

He watched her go, then glanced at the Master. "Right then," he said. "I'm not going to sit about and let you make fun of me. And of course I taught Molly about flying the TARDIS. She's really very clever." He moved toward the door himself, headed back to his own TARDIS. "Next time, Master, just invite me over for tea. The kidnapping and theatrics are really just embarrassing at this point."
