WHO: Mac Taylor, Sherlock Holmes, and Roy Harper. Open to other law enforcement types as well.
WHAT: Investigating the scene of a crime.
WHEN: [Backdated] Saturday morning; around 7AM (following this).
WHERE: The Park.
RATING: TBD (might be a bit high due to mentions of blood and death)
STATUS: In Progress

Although Mac hadn't been in Colligo long, he had already managed to secure a job as the head of the city's crime lab. Considering he had been in charge of the crime lab back in New York, that wasn't too much of a change for him. And, much like back home, the job came with certain understandings... such as always being on call. Considering that criminals rarely took Friday nights off, it really wasn't too much of a shock that he'd gotten notified early Saturday morning that his presence was needed at the park. It wasn't even surprising when he arrived on the scene to discover it was a murder investigation. After all, Colligo was a booming city filled with all sorts and he'd already dealt with a few murder scenes in the few scant weeks he'd been there. However, this one was unique from the others in at least one way.

It was, by and large, the bloodiest crime scene he'd seen in the city thus far.

The victim - the license in his wallet identified him as Jonathan Hadley - was a thirty year old man who had been found, mutilated, in the park by an early morning jogger. He was missing a hand, which had been located nearly twenty feet away in a bush, and had died of blood loss due to his throat being all but ripped out. At first glance, it appeared to be a rather vicious animal attack. But, on closer examination, Mac realized that wasn't quite right. Head tilted, camera held in one glove-covered hand, his brow furrowed ever so slightly as he studied the pattern of blood that covered the victim's shirt.

It wasn't until a non-local arrived on the scene, though, that he finally voiced what he was thinking out loud. Gaze flickering briefly to the newcomer, he looked back to the scene laid out before them.

"Tell me something," he mused dryly as he raised the camera and took a few, quick pictures. "What kind of animal takes the time to wipe itself clean after feasting on a meal?"

Mac glanced back to Roy, brow furrowing ever so slightly. "Giant squid?" he echoed before shaking his head slightly. "Nevermind. Not the point." He exhaled slowly, casting a critical gaze at the scene around them before looking to Roy once more. "Looks like the focus was on the victim rather than the area, then," he commented.

Then he turned back to Sherlock, blinking in faint shock at the introduction. Sherlock Holmes. He had Sherlock Holmes at his crime scene. Right. Because that was perfectly plausible. Resisting the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose, Mac turned his attention to the blood splatter that trailed from the victim's mutilated body, to where the hand lay. He was in the middle of snapping a few more photos when Sherlock spoke again and didn't even look up from where he was zooming in on an interesting splatter pattern while responding mildly with, "If you contaminate my crime scene, Mr. Holmes, I can promise you that it will be the last one you are allowed near while in this city."

Then he pulled a pair of gloves from his pocket, holding one hand out to offer them to the man while continuing to look through his camera at the trace in the area. "There's an evidence bag in my kit, three steps to your right." Snapping one more photo, he glanced over his shoulder at the consulting detective. "I'm sure someone with your level of intelligence is capable of getting it yourself."
