WHO: Number Six & Stephanie Brown [with a guest cameo from Gabriel]
WHAT: Six decides to do a bit of exploring. As per usual, trouble seems to find her.
WHEN: 10PM
WHERE: The Serpent's Den
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Six was not happy about being randomly transported to another planet that she couldn't leave. Even with all of the talk of being returned to the point in time she'd left, she didn't like the idea of leaving Number Four on his own and certainly didn't appreciate the upheaval without so much as a word of warning before it had happened. Her life wasn't all happiness and sunshine back on Earth but it had still been her life. Having it disrupted left a sour taste in her mouth and made her itch to find something to take it out on.

However, being the new girl in town meant that she needed to behave until she got her footing. The word on the street was that there were some pretty powerful forces at work in Colligo and she really didn't want to go looking for trouble only to bite off more than she could chew. So instead of picking a fight with the first person who looked her way, she opted for a different route. She wasn't much of a drinker, so the bars didn't catch her eye, but she definitely enjoyed a touch of downtime now and then. And those she spoke to said a good place to relax and have a good time, even if you didn't drink, was a nightclub known as the Serpent's Den.

Arriving just after ten o'clock, Six had to admit she was impressed at the number of people who were there on a Tuesday night. Apparently the place was pretty popular with various walks of life, although the 'relatively young and single' crowd seemed to make up the bulk of it. That was fine with her because she easily fit in with that particular stereotype. Plus, the music was good and the place had an energy about it that she found she enjoyed. In fact, she was enjoying herself quite a lot - simply dancing on the floor with whatever guy happened to be closest and interested - when that aforementioned trouble decided to come skulking along without benefit of her even looking for it this time.

It all started innocently enough. A guy asked her to dance, she accepted, and they made their way to the floor. Then some other guy came along, demanding her attention and not wanting to take no for an answer. The first guy did his best to defend her honor, or at least she assumed that's what his intention had been, only to wind up with a broken nose for his effort. Which might have been amusing, truth be told, if he'd done anything to deserve the punch to his face. Since he hadn't, though, and had been nothing but nice to her, Six felt almost obligated to get involved at that point. So the second the guy who didn't know what 'no' meant turned back to face her, she did what any self-respecting girl would do.

She doubled up her fist, punched him in the face, then grabbed him by the throat and lifted him easily off his feet and well over her head.

The crowd immediately began backing up to give her a wide berth as she glared up at the guy who was doing his best to claw at her vice-like grip while also choking on the blood from his busted nose and lip. Six simply smiled, spun on her heel, and tossed him effortlessly off the dance floor. Before he had even landed, she had teleported to the tables where he was going to crash and caught him. Setting him on his feet, she grabbed one of his arms, twisted it behind his back and, standing directly behind him, yanked his head back so his ear was close enough to her mouth that he could hear her over the music and cheers echoing around them.

"Get the hell out of here before I really lose my temper, cowboy," she said simply, offering him that single warning before releasing him with a shove. Fortunately for him, he was smart enough to listen and took off with a running stumble that made several onlookers burst out laughing while also applauding her efforts. Six, meanwhile, simply tugged a bit on her leather jacket to straighten it once more then headed to the bar, having decided that maybe it was time for a drink after all.

Steph was glad to be working tonight, if only because it gave her the opportunity to possibly kick someone's ass if they got out of line. She was upset and frustrated, because it felt like the city had it out for her and the rest of the X-Mansion. She knew it wasn't personal like that, and she didn't blame Morgan Freeman or anything, but it still sucked. Raven had been her best friend in the city, and now she was gone. And Steph really hoped that some asshole would screw up and give her an excuse to rough him up a little. That was one of the good things about having a super-understanding archangel boss who totally approved of people getting what was coming to them. Well, that and having a job as security. Kicking ass was kind of in her job description.

She really thought she was going to get a chance when some asshole started harassing a blonde girl and then punched out the guy who tried to defend her. She was just about to step in, when the girl made a pretty fantastic showing of defending herself. And by defending herself, she meant punching the guy, tossing him across the room, then doing the coolest teleporting thing Steph had ever seen outside of Ashley Magnus and catching him before he could wreck the tables. Which was really pretty thoughtful of the girl when Steph considered it. She was one of the many onlookers who applauded as the guy took off running. And she may have stuck her foot out so that he tripped on his way out the door. But, of course, if she did that, she wasn't going to say.

She watched the girl head over to the bar and saw her boss sizing her up with a hint of amusement. She knew what was coming now. Gabriel was absolutely going to give her a job offer. No question about it. The teleporting trick showed that the girl wasn't a local and she'd just kicked some sleezebag's ass with practically no effort. She caught Gabriel's eye and gestured over at the girl with her head. He nodded and she grinned as she walked over. She wanted to at least get to talk to her before the job offer came. After all, if she said yes, they'd be working together pretty closely. She doubted she'd work with anyone as well as she had with Raven, but the girl had style and attitude and she definitely appreciated both those qualities in a person.

"Hey," she said as she sat down next to the other blonde. "Those were some pretty sweet moves you had there. I was impressed." Considering the word 'Security' on her t-shirt, one might have thought she was here to kick the girl out for fighting, but no. She was just congratulating her on some awesome skills. "Especially the teleporting thing. Thanks for not letting him crash into the tables. The clean-up would have absolutely sucked. Unless bossman took care of it. But he probably wouldn't, just to be difficult." She held out a hand. "I'm Steph. Let me get you a drink, as a thank you for dealing with the scumbag. I always appreciate people making my job easier."

When the girl wearing the shirt marked 'Security' approached her, Six had fully expected to be escorted from the club. Was it fair? Hardly. However, if there was one thing Six had learned over the years it was that life was never fair and, well, she had just beat the hell out of a guy in a public setting. So there were consequences to be had.

However, that wasn't what happened at all. In fact, the only consequence for what she'd done seemed to be the offer of a free drink by someone who she assumed wasn't looking to get into her pants, a couple of compliments, and even a thank you. As that never happened, Six was understandably a bit surprised and even a little suspicious. However, she was hardly going to pass up free alcohol now that she'd decided to drink. So she simply flashed the fellow blond a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes and tipped her head slightly.

"Maren," she introduced herself, shaking the girl's hand briefly, turning so she was leaning against the bar and could get a better look at her. "And I'll take a gin and tonic, since you're buying." She glanced over her shoulder at the bartender. "More gin than tonic."

Her attention then slid back to the security guard, a quick glance sizing her up before she met Steph's gaze. "So, female security that compliments a girl who can kick ass." Slowly she smiled, this time the expression a touch more sincere if still a little hardened. "Seems like my kind of place."

"Gin and tonic it is," Steph said with a smile. She nodded to the bartender. "And can I get a Cherry Coke?" No alcohol while she was working, because that was just common sense and professionalism and a couple other things that Gabriel half scoffed at but still enforced. She waited patiently while the bartender got their drinks, then took a sip of hers. Yay fizzy caffeine. She turned slightly to keep an eye on the room, while she continued to talk to the other blonde. The girl could definitely handle her own and it had more than peaked Steph's curiosity.

"Nice to meet you, Maren," she said with a smile. "I figure you've got to be new in town, since I haven't seen you around before...and the nifty blue teleporting trick means you're definitely not local. But that's okay, because all the cool folks are captives." She took another sip of her drink. "Are you settling in okay? This place can kind of be a headtrip sometimes." And that was a giant freaking understatement, but it was hard to adequately describe the sheer level of mindfuckery that was Colligo, especially to someone who hadn't been there very long.

She couldn't help but grin when Maren commented on the female security and said she liked the place. "Yeah," she said, "most all the security here is female. It's fun to see the confusion on guy's faces when a girl a foot shorter than him tosses him out of the bar." She shrugged. "I like it here anyway. It's a good place to work and the staff's pretty cool. I could definitely do worse than dealing with creeps here."

She glanced over at Maren. "And it's good that it's your kind of place," she said, "because my boss is absolutely going to offer you a job after that little display." She paused. "We just lost a staff member...she got sent back. So...we can always use one more. I figured I'd come talk to you before he made the offer. Gabriel can be...well...he's kind of an acquired taste for some people. You might like him though."
