Who: Reg and Ariadne
What: Reg promised her Prom Photos (In accordance with the current plot I almost typed ‘porn’ photos – Woot!)
When: Today, around lunchtime
Where: They’re meeting for lunch somewhere

Regulus had promised Ariadne there would be photos for viewing after the Prom Event, and he had taken a good number of pictures with his PDA, handy things they were when they weren’t changing all your good, well intentioned texts into raunchy innuendos. The trick was then getting the photos off the PDA and into a sharable format. Juno had been indispensable in taking him to a place that could print the images from his PDA by sticking something into another thing. He wasn’t too clear still about the particulars but he had pictures in hand as he walked into the small restaurant near where Ariadne worked, and that’s all that mattered.

Though he didn’t offer them right away, because when had a Black ever cooperated for anyone?

He smiled for his friend as he sat down, “Afternoon, how are you?” And then he was grabbing the menu, “Um what is good at this place?”

Ariadne was already sitting down with a glass of water in front of her, smiling back. "I'm fine other than my PDA deciding to put itself in Japanese. Which I don't speak." Sipping her water, she glanced down at the menu. "I like the California salad. It's got avocadoes. And the fries here are really good, but super greasy, so you might not like those."

There was something different about him, and if Regulus had been a different person she might have teased him about it. Instead, Ariadne just tilted her head. "You're awfully chipper."

"Could be worse, mine sent a text to Sirius calling him kinky." Which, as everyone in the whole city knew from all the many Reg Freak Outs, was completely outside the realm of something Regulus would do.

Regulus made a face at the mention of grease and fries. It was his opinion that oil should be used sparingly in cooking, soaking food in the liquid while cooking said food was simply unacceptable. He wasn't even going to hide his disapproval. There were somethings about his upbringing that he simply refused to let go.

The menu seemed to have more unacceptable food than it did edible things, only slightly disappointing, and Regulus made a mental note to choose the restaurant next time. There were, however, enough items that Regulus didn't feel the need to go without. Soup and salad it was.

"Um..." he said after giving the menu over to the server, and after a moment to think if he was actually in a good mood. He smiled a bit as he confirmed that he was indeed chipper, "Ya. I guess so."

Ariadne choked on her water and only narrowly managed to not spew it all over the table and her dining companion. Once she'd recovered, she gave Regulus a bleary look. "That's... I have no words. Did you set it on fire?"

After she ordered her salad with a side of fries, because grease was an important part of an artist's balanced diet along with coffee and cigarettes, she managed a smile. "So? Care to share with the rest of the class what's got you so perky?"

"No," he half snorted at the thought. He noticed the nicely displayed sugar packets, cream servings and jam packets off to the side and pull them over to start rearranging the nice, neat work into something that resembled a bit of chaos. "but it was tempting. I think neither of us wanted to explore why my PDA was calling him kinky and we left it at that."

Regulus gave Ariadne's question a bit more thought. He was actually in a good mood, which was far different than he'd felt almost always. But he really couldn't say why. Like most facets about his emotions he really didn't grasp the ins and outs very well, he knew when he 'was' something, but he couldn't tell you how he got to that state of being.

"I don't know," he answered honestly and shrugged, "I don't know, just... a good day, I guess?"

"Sounds reasonable. Which is definitely not a word I associate with either of you normally." Ariadne stole some of the creamer and jam and started building a very small tower. If they were going to make a mess, it might as well look interesting.

His answer wasn't entirely satisfactory, but it wasn't defensive backpedaling either. So that was somewhat of a relief in itself. "Well, that's good. I like it. Not that my appraisal of your mood should matter, but... it's nice to see you without a permanent scowl on your face." After all, it was entirely too pretty a face to have that line etched between the eyebrows. But the methods she usually employed to get Arthur to smile clearly wouldn't work on Regulus.

"So where are these pictures? You're holding out on me, Black."

He made a face at her verbal jab but didn't rise to the bait. He started adding an outer lining of sugar packets standing on end against the creamer-jam tower, a pink, white, and blue layer of sweetener for added affect.

"My scowl isn't permanent, I can stop when ever I want." And to drive home the point he narrowed his eyes into one of those scowls for just a moment, before his expression melted back into the more pleasing look he'd been sporting when he'd arrived.

"Pictures?" He looked up from the condiment and spice tower with raised eyebrows, as if slightly perplexed, even if he knew exactly what Ariadne was ask for, "What pictures?"
