WHO: Edward and Renesmee Cullen
WHAT: Edward, meet Nessie. Nessie, try not to break his brain.
WHEN: Right after this.
WHERE: In front of the Grand Library, to start
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

After nine long years of having Jake as much of her life as her parents were, Nessie had almost forgotten about the open hostility that had once existed between her father and her Jacob. Granted they were hardly best friends in her own time - and never would be, either - but enough time spent together had forced them to find a common, middle ground when it came to her and had made situations like the one she was currently facing all but a thing of the past.

The current situation, of course, being her trying to convince her father that Jacob wasn't to blame for their current predicament and hopefully managing to succeed before Jacob decided to seek him out and convince him himself. Likely in a much more hostile type way.

So Nessie had slipped away while he was in the shower to go in search of her father. A quick shout as she'd run out the door to announce she'd be back as soon as possible and then she was moving as quickly as she could out of the building and down the street. By the time her PDA had vibrated in her pocket to alert her to a reply from her father, she was already making her way around the other side of the Grand Library. With a smirk she replied to his message then leaned against one of the large pillars at the top of the stairs leading into the library. This offered her a view of the bulk of the main street, as well as her father - or at least his back.

With her long, curly, bronze-colored hair and pale features, she actually looked a great deal like her father as it was. She had her mother's eyes, however, and her scent was a mixture of both of theirs as well as Jacob. Her arms were stuffed lightly into the pockets of her jeans as she smirked down the dozen or so steps, waiting for him to do as she'd instructed and turn around. There was no way she was stepping out from under the protection of the roof behind held up by the pillars, into the rain until she was sure he wasn't going to launch himself at her and send them both crashing into the slowly flooding streets.

For a moment, all she could do was simply stare at Edward with a look which clearly screamed she couldn't believe he was actually asking her that. Honestly, what part of she was his daughter didn't he understand? Ignoring the urge to roll her eyes, huff at his stubbornness, or perhaps worse show a bit of hostility in order to vent her frustration over this entire situation, instead Nessie stayed silent and waited for him to speak again.

He didn't disappoint and, although she bristled slightly at that horrid name for Jacob, she stayed quiet until he'd actually asked her something. When she answered, her tone was somewhat tense but her expression was still composed.

"Of course," she answered evenly, "who else's daughter would I be? It isn't as though there's anyone else for you, but her. And vice versa, for that matter."

A brief pause - very brief - before she finally sighed softly. "I can show you, if you want," she offered. She didn't want to force her memories on him if he wasn't willing, but at the moment it was the only way she could think to make him believe her. Of course, if he had a better idea, Nessie was more than willing to listen to it.

Provided it didn't involve yet more insults being hurled at her Jacob, of course.
