WHO: Edward and Renesmee Cullen
WHAT: Edward, meet Nessie. Nessie, try not to break his brain.
WHEN: Right after this.
WHERE: In front of the Grand Library, to start
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

After nine long years of having Jake as much of her life as her parents were, Nessie had almost forgotten about the open hostility that had once existed between her father and her Jacob. Granted they were hardly best friends in her own time - and never would be, either - but enough time spent together had forced them to find a common, middle ground when it came to her and had made situations like the one she was currently facing all but a thing of the past.

The current situation, of course, being her trying to convince her father that Jacob wasn't to blame for their current predicament and hopefully managing to succeed before Jacob decided to seek him out and convince him himself. Likely in a much more hostile type way.

So Nessie had slipped away while he was in the shower to go in search of her father. A quick shout as she'd run out the door to announce she'd be back as soon as possible and then she was moving as quickly as she could out of the building and down the street. By the time her PDA had vibrated in her pocket to alert her to a reply from her father, she was already making her way around the other side of the Grand Library. With a smirk she replied to his message then leaned against one of the large pillars at the top of the stairs leading into the library. This offered her a view of the bulk of the main street, as well as her father - or at least his back.

With her long, curly, bronze-colored hair and pale features, she actually looked a great deal like her father as it was. She had her mother's eyes, however, and her scent was a mixture of both of theirs as well as Jacob. Her arms were stuffed lightly into the pockets of her jeans as she smirked down the dozen or so steps, waiting for him to do as she'd instructed and turn around. There was no way she was stepping out from under the protection of the roof behind held up by the pillars, into the rain until she was sure he wasn't going to launch himself at her and send them both crashing into the slowly flooding streets.

Trying to remember as much as he could about the previous years the name nessie was not in his dictionary, not until today at least. Turning quickly he glanced down the street thinking as hard as he could and trying to pick up a scent. Freezing he smelt Bella, Himself, and again Jacob. At the top of the library, where he was rudly tossed out stood a small figure pale and frail like Bella herself. The figure must have been the one he smelt, she was beautiful like the mother she claimed to have definatly looked like him though. Arching back he more or less ran up the stairs pausing inches infront of her deciding whether or not to attack or wait for reasoning.

Nessie calmly raised an eyebrow when he appeared in front of her, the smirk even more pronounced at his uncertain expression. "That was a little slow," she commented in a humorous tone. "Not as slow as Uncle Emmett, maybe, but more Uncle Jasper's speed than what you usually clock." It was all said casually, her position against the pillar never changing. It was just as relaxed as it had been when he'd first turned to face her.

Glancing past him, she snorted at one of the locals glancing their way before her brown-eyed gaze flickered back to her father. "They don't even carry an umbrella," she stated flatly before slowly arching an eyebrow. "Are you picking up on anything from them or are they as brainwashed as they seem to be?"

Unsure of how to react or better yet respond, he listened carefully to her words. "How exactly do you know my family?" Turning he noticed the person in the street, whom seemed wet and annoyed at the fact that he did not have an umbrella. Looking again at the figure before him she was a spitting image of him and Bella, her thoughts were painful and to much information for a father to see.

"I don't exactly know who you are but I know that you reek of that dog and I swear when I find out how you two got me into this..." His temper was getting the best of him. Sighing he gave a sideways smirk maybe there was another way to get to this little girl. "So you are my daughter, I'm guessing Bella's as well?"

For a moment, all she could do was simply stare at Edward with a look which clearly screamed she couldn't believe he was actually asking her that. Honestly, what part of she was his daughter didn't he understand? Ignoring the urge to roll her eyes, huff at his stubbornness, or perhaps worse show a bit of hostility in order to vent her frustration over this entire situation, instead Nessie stayed silent and waited for him to speak again.

He didn't disappoint and, although she bristled slightly at that horrid name for Jacob, she stayed quiet until he'd actually asked her something. When she answered, her tone was somewhat tense but her expression was still composed.

"Of course," she answered evenly, "who else's daughter would I be? It isn't as though there's anyone else for you, but her. And vice versa, for that matter."

A brief pause - very brief - before she finally sighed softly. "I can show you, if you want," she offered. She didn't want to force her memories on him if he wasn't willing, but at the moment it was the only way she could think to make him believe her. Of course, if he had a better idea, Nessie was more than willing to listen to it.

Provided it didn't involve yet more insults being hurled at her Jacob, of course.

Thinking for a moment, he looked over the young child in front of him, she defiantly looked like his child. Her thoughts were all but screaming the truth at him despite what her composition showed and he gave a crooked smirk at that. "Show me?" The words were barely a whisper but something told him that his daughter would be able to hear them.

After he tried to regain himself from the startling information he gathered, he thought of Bella. He badly missed her, being in this place with hardly any scents and the only ones knowing who he really is turns out to be a dog and his unknown daughter. He sighed remembering that he would do anything to protect his clumsy Bella and her not being here made him anxious. His body was relaxed completely still as he awaited what she was about to show him.
