Who: Gabriel and Aziraphale
What: Brotherly advice
When: Wednesday afternoon
Where: The ineffable bookshop

Gabriel was handling his involuntary foray into humanity fairly well. He'd been cut off from his connection with the source in purgatory, and drained himself of almost all his power for the sake of his mission, but more than that, he had been living in Colligo long enough to take the City's foibles with a grain of salt and take it all in stride. He'd probably matured a great deal, though he knew he still made foolish, if well meaning mistakes, and he was happy with his life. His body was heavy, but his heart was light.

The purpose of his visit to Zira wasn't about being human. It was about relationships. About spending time with his brother, and perhaps seeking his advice in matters of the heart.

It was a quiet day in the shop, though that was unsurprising. Aziraphale had a habit of willing people, aside from his regulars, to pass it by when he knew he would be having company. And that stayed in place even when he didn't have the power to actually cause it. Some things just seemed to hold in place of their own accord because they'd been willed for so long. And Gabriel had said he would be stopping by to talk about something, which made an empty shop really be best option. The former Principality debated over tea versus scotch for a long moment, before finally rationalising that the former seemed more conducive to discussing personal problems than the latter - especially considering they couldn't simply will away any ill effects of the alcohol.

As always, either by ineffability or sheer luck, the tea was just finishing up when Gabriel came into the shop. Coming to the front, he gave his brother a smile and a hug. "Hello there, old boy," he said, "come on back. I have tea and we can sit down and talk about whatever is troubling you."

"Impeccable timing, as always," Gabriel mused, smiling as he entered the shop and Aziraphale appeared. His brother always had such finesse. Gabriel wasn't exactly a bumbling oaf, but he couldn't help admiring the grace with which Aziraphale seemed to be able to adapt to almost any situation.

He returned the embrace warmly, and followed his brother toward the back of the shop. "It's not exactly trouble," he said, "So much as wanting to get an opinion from someone with a little more experience in that particular area."
