Regulus wondered, as he lay in his bed attempting to drift off to sleep, if Ariadne and Eames would be able to catch him during a light doze. Regulus, like his brother, was not a heavy sleeper unless assisted by a potion or chemical. Even with all the fixing Juno had done he still had issues to figure out on his own - hence his agreeing to try this with Ariadne and Eames. And those issues still affected his sleeping habits somewhat, in that he was still a light sleeper.

But then Ariadne was the goddess of dreams right now, or something like that, and could probably get a carrot to dream at this point. Regulus had far more intelligence than a carrot, most days. If someone was going to make it work, it would be Ariadne.

He sighed and tossed from his side to his back, reminding himself that he was doing this so that he could one day have an unassisted descent night's sleep. He consentrated again on thinking about nothing, not Juno, nor being 'fixed', not his problems, not Eames' and vampires, just nothing. It was hard as he would manage it for a moment, then forget he was trying to think of nothing and then start thinking of something. He tried again, letting the weight of tired eyes seem soothing.

He didn't know when he started but he'd drifted off. And then he was almost dreaming, standing in a sitting room at Grimmauld Place, he dreamed of there a lot. It seemed like a dreary place to find oneself but not for him, because this sitting room was rarely used at home and in his mind no one would be there but him. It wasn't a train yard, nor his cousin Bella's home, nor the woods in northern England, nor a dank bedroom with a large stain on the rug. For him, amidst the old fabric, the dusty, ornate wood panels, dim light and stagnant smell of Black family heritage, this was peace.

Ariadne nodded, brushing a hand over the wall. "I can make sure they don't appear." It wasn't as if this was a PASIV dream with a subject and a dreamer and the subconscious brain's realization that it was being invaded. This was something else entirely, and she had complete control. "And if you want out, well, you wake up. You can do that by dying, or by falling, or I can just make you wake up. The last option is probably the gentlest."

She took hold of a handle that hadn't been there before, jutting out from the wall, and opened a door onto a forest. It looked tranquil and quiet, the noonday sun filtered through leaves into a green stillness and paths winding their way between the trees. "Why don't we start here?" Nothing too outlandish, but somewhere more calming and less burdened with memory.

Eames instinctively took a step back from the small pool of light where the sun was breaking through into the sitting room, then checked his pockets. His H&K was in the inside pocket, he was pleased to note, and then he realised what else Ariadne had given him. He pulled out his sunglasses and put them on, relaxing almost visibly as he did so.

"Is this based on anywhere in particular, or is it another fantasy-novel special?" he asked of Ariadne, smiling as he spoke. He was going to have to get Ariadne to take him on a proper tour of her version of the Dreaming soon. Once he was a bit more settled with everything Parker and Tesla had given him, he would do that. Taking a couple of steps towards the door, he held his hand out into the sunbeam and smiled a bit more when it didn't actually hurt.

Ariadne stepped out into the forest, now wearing her usual jeans and boots rather than the elaborate dress. "It's a bunch of places, really," she said over her shoulder. "Acadia National Park, mostly, but a lot of other things thrown in too." She turned to Regulus. "Do you like it?"

Regulus checked himself before walking through the door. Thus far nothing horrible had happened, that he could tell. His mind still seemed intact and unbreeched, which was very heartening for him on this little adventure. He would probably do a similar mental check like this every step of the way, but would be rather typical of him.

"Um," he said as he stepped through and looked around. It was a forest, not terribly dense and it sounded very much like a forest with the birds chirping and the bugs buzzing. Regulus' clothes stayed the same, collared, button down, shirt and dark slacks. Stiff looking as always. Not idea for a hike through the woods but something he would be comfortable in in just about any setting. And this was a dream, he could tromp through the woods in polished shoes if he wanted to.

"It looks just like a forest," he stated, craning his head to look up for anything that might be above. Just tree line. "Are we going to have a picnic?"

"We can if you want," Ariadne answered, setting off on a path that sloped very gently downhill. "We could go exploring. There's a fairy ring somewhere, and I put in a treetop city for fun, but - how are you with heights? Or we can just go for a walk." She put her hair up in a loose bun, shrugging as she did so. "Or a picnic. Yes, you can eat in the dream." She'd done it in her first one, and remembered the buttery taste under the shattering-crisp glaze of the pastry she'd been eating. Funny how the mind filled in the details.
