Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:!@event, *log, juno weasley, regulus black, sirius black

Who: Regulus (OPEN to whom ever wants to find him)
What: Processing the days events
When: late tonight
Where: Some empty flat in Building D
Rating/Warnings: Low as is, TBD
Status: Narrative, unless someone wants to jump in.

Black, quiet. The day had been so long and the dark, empty flat enough floors up from everyone to give the impression no one else existed was so inviting. He could hide in this nothing. No whispered din, no piercing, suffocating, worried looks. None of it for him anyway, aside from Juno and Sirius those weren’t his friends and the latter was just barely that. And not one glance for him, no questions of how, or … anything. Was the dead worth a second thought right now?

It was late, wards set, people gathered, Kreacher squared away so as not to be underfoot, or more appropriately put, out of the way of Sirius. Regulus could slip away, maybe to breathe, maybe to stop altogether, he hadn’t decide yet, and that seemed like a decision one shouldn’t make in advance. Whichever path Regulus chose the room was sure not to tell.

They all looked the same, these rooms, no variety, no escaping the triggered memories of what had happened earlier in a room not much more furnished than this, but no breeched window, or shattered glass… or ashes here. Regulus was avoiding the windows for more than one reason, ward up, surely, but did that mean it would last? Unnecessarily testing the magic would be foolish. But glued to the spot, watching it all play out again across this substitute stage, broken window, utter confusion, a dawning dread, a realization of the power behind that weapon, his friend… Regulus couldn’t move until the last ash fluttered to the ground in his mind.

The memory done Regulus was released and he stepped back, and back, and back until his back hit a wall and he couldn’t retreat more. If he couldn’t move along that horizontal plane, he reasoned, he would change things up and chose a vertical trajectory and slide down until he hit the floor, gracelessly, heavy. Exhaustion broke his defense and the stinging at the corner of his eyes could be ignored no longer, the choke in his throat, Regulus did for Severus one more gesture never extended to the man in his two lifetimes, and cried.

Evolved, mutated humans? From Rose's reality. For the first time in a good few hours, apart from when he was pretending to sleep, Sirius fell silent, thinking about his blonde friend and these strange orbs which had barreled over from her world. He should try and text that girl. Demand some bloody answers. As soon as he ditched the babysitter/werewolf cushion role.

"I tend to tune out when that bloke talks," he admitted, only partly paying attention. They'd reached the first floor now, and Sirius grabbed the door separating the stairwell from the hallway and held it open for the pair, only just managing not to let it swing back and hit Regulus on the arse as he went through. "It's a pissing joke, anyway. It's Christmas! Be quiet when you get in. Everyone's asleep."
