WHO: Claire Bennet, Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Castiel, Gabriel, Michael, Loki, and Lucifer (in no particular order)
WHAT: Dealing with the Devil once and for all.
WHEN: Nighttime
WHERE: Harvelle's
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
NOTES: Due to Real Life eating a few of the players involved, this thread is going to be very slow-moving. However, this is the thread where Lucifer is going to die which means he will not be around for anything posted after this thread.

Claire sighed softly and looked around. She was nervous, that much was obvious, but there was also a sense of anticipation to get this show on the road already. She knew that their location had been given to Lucifer so the only question was, what was taking him so long? Frowning lightly, she glanced around at the empty bar and found herself wishing he would hurry up. Not only did she want to get this over with, she really didn't want to be in Harvelle's any longer than she had to be. She still missed Jo and being here just reminded her of yet more loss that she'd had to suffer at the hands of this city.

Turning her attention away from the bar itself, Claire looked around the room. She went over the plan in her mind for what felt like the billionth time since Gabriel had told her what it was. Her part was simple and yet so much was riding on her managing to do it right. If she screwed it up somehow, they could all be dead before anyone even realized what was going on. So she reassured herself that she wouldn't screw it up, just as she reassured herself that it was okay for her not to have told Dean or Castiel about the plan in advance and that she could totally pretend to be Sam without anyone being any the wiser. She'd yet to believe any of the things she was telling herself, of course, but she didn't dwell on that. Instead she looked around the room once more, gave a soft sigh, and finally broke the silence.

"Someone please say something."

The words just didn't sound the same, she decided, being spoken in Sam's voice.

Sam was almost positive that the strangest part of this was actually having to look up at people. Hardest, no. But definitely the strangest. Claire spoke and his voice came from her mouth, however, and that was all re-evaluated. Sighing, he slid a hand through his - Claire's? - hair. The fact that there was about an extra foot there was not lost on him. He didn't have time to think about that for too long, though, because Dean was addressing him.

Except not really. Right. That was going to take some getting used to.

He had re-evaluated the hardest part of this a thousand times. First, he'd decided that it was the fact that Claire was taking the rap, more or less, for something he did. Second was the fact that he had to sit and do nothing. Third, and most recently, was lying to Dean and Cas. He'd never been a very good liar. This had to be an exception.

"There's not much else we can really do, Dean," he said plainly. That much wasn't a lie, anyway.

Castiel didn't want to be in that place even more than the others but he had no choice. This was not about his desires so he ignored them. His senses were on full alert. He hovered close to Dean and Sam.

This was it, what they had been waiting for. Castiel was afraid. He was not even going to try to deny it, only do his best to make sure no one else did. Where were his brothers? The humans were nervous to. He would attend to them, that was why he was here.

He rounded on Dean. "The... God Squad is the only thing that can stop Lucifer, Dean. Whether you trust us or not, it makes no difference. There is not other way. I trust them, however. I would have spoken against this plan if I did not. You are... my friends. I do not want Lucifer to even see you but this is the only way. If you do not trust me, Dean, then you had best say it now." Castiel wasn't angry with Dean. He was afraid for him. For all of them. He needed to believe in his brothers, the the plan. He needed them to as well.

His tone softened. "They are here for Lucifer, I am here for you. It will be done, Dean. It will be done without your loss," If I can possibly stop it.

"I guess not," Dean told Claire, grabbing a beer for himself. What? Why shouldn't he have a drink before they faced off with the fucking devil. He thought a drink was pretty damn good idea right now.

Sometimes, Dean was almost convinced that Cas was fucking with him. That was the only explanation. Turning to face the angel, he just stared at him for a moment before speaking. "I didn't mean you," he said, as if that should have been obvious. "I meant the other angels. Damn, Cas, you are just about the only angel I trust. If you haven't figured out yet, you're a complete idiot." And if Cas got offended by that, well he could just deal. He was annoyed that Cas was actually questioning if he trusted him. Of course he did.

He might have been more patient under normal circumstances, but he was on edge. Lucifer was coming. Lucifer who wanted to wear his brother as a prom dress. It made him, understandably, kind of twitchy. The last bit softened his annoyance and he sighed. "I'm glad you're here," he said. "But it better happen without your loss too, or I'll kick your ass."

This was impossible and absolutely ridiculous. For the fiftieth time or so, Claire considered just telling Dean and Castiel the truth. It wouldn't be hard. She just had to say it, and she was pretty sure Sam would come clean too. Then she wouldn't have to pretend to be him and figure out what he would say in a situation like this. Which, for the record, was nearly impossible considering she had no idea what she should say, much less what someone who was a lot more personally vested would want to talk about. If he'd want to talk at all.

Sam and I really should have exchanged notes or something. The thought rattled around inside of her mind yet Claire kept from saying it out loud. She also kept from telling Dean and Castiel the truth. As much as she wanted to, she knew that she couldn't. Gabriel was right. If they didn't react properly to what looked like Sam's death, Lucifer would catch on and they all would die.

So instead she just sat there and listened to Castiel and Dean exchange some words. She eyed Dean's beer and idly wondered if she should drink one too. Would Sam drink a beer? She was thinking yes. However Sam wouldn't make what her father referred to as the 'stink face' while drinking said beer, and Claire knew she probably would. Which was reason number ten billion or something as to why this plan was never going to work.

"If this plan works right, the only loss is going to be Lucifer," Claire finally said. She drummed her fingers absently against the side of the table where she sat. The anxiety she was feeling made her want to stand up and start pacing but she refrained. Sam was just so tall that she worried she might trip over her own two feet or something. Reason number ten billion and one, she thought with a slight frown before looking back to the others.

Michael was standing slightly apart from the others in the room. He needed the time to clear his mind of everything that had happened since Lucifer had arrived and to focus on the plan at hand. Serendipity had safe keeping of Bobby, and he felt he could trust the muse to care for the child until he could fulfill his duty. He doubted that either of the two would last long should he be defeated here tonight, but he wasn't thinking about that. He almost wanted a cigarette. Had he been human again, he would have been smoking like a freight train, but his wings were still intact, thankfully. His hand was gripping the hilt of his sword, despite the lack of immediate danger. Had he been human, his knuckles would have been white.

"It will work," he stated simply, glancing at the humans in the room for the first time, his voice low and dangerous.

If there was one thing Sam was worse at than lying, it was waiting. Doing both at the same time - and in another person's body, no less - had to qualify as the worst thing he'd ever had to do. Sighing, he looked in the direction of the window and sort of hoped that Lucifer would show up soon. He couldn't wait any longer.

Clasping his hand together and nervously twiddling his thumbs, he stayed quiet, mostly because if he said anything, he knew he'd give away the fact that he wasn't Claire. It was impossible to be discreet here, because yeah, they should have exchanged notes. While they talked a little bit more than Sam had with the others here, he still didn't really know her, and being someone he didn't know was hard. He looked at Michael when he spoke and then sighed slowly, turning his head to look out the window. He didn't speak unless spoken to until this was over, he decided.
