Morning already?
Who: Lucas and Brooke, CLOSED

When: Sunday Morning
What: Waking up, hungover
Warnings: None so far.

Brooke opened her eyes, and instantly regretted it. It was so bright and her eyes hurt so much.

She winced and buried her head in the pillow. It felt weird, warm and ... solid.

And it was moving - rising and falling. She ran her hand along it, not wanting to risk opening her eyes again.

Okay, not a pillow, a person.

It came rushing back to her - wine and hanging out with Lucas and more wine...

She lifted her head a little, glancing down at his chest. He still had his tshirt on. And she was wearing all of her clothes. So... nothing had happened.

Phew. That would have been awkward.

God, her head hurt.

She lowered it to his chest again, moving was way too much effort right now. And this ... this actually felt kinda nice.

"You're welcome," he said, smiling warmly at her.

"That's good, I"m glad," he said. He reached out and brushed her hair behind her ear, smiling softly.

He moved his hand back and grabbed his coffee, taking a sip.

"I should probably take a shower, I must smell gross," he said.

He set the coffee on the locker beside his bed. "I'll be right out," he said, heading to the bathroom.

She looked up at him when he hwen he brushed her hair behind her ear. Oh, God she was totally in love with him.

She was so screwed.

"Okay," she said. He left and she groaned, letting her head all back against the headboard.

"Ow," she said, wincing. She reached for the aspirin and took two, gulping down all of the water and biting into a slice of fruit.

What the hell was she supposed to do now?

	He took a quick shower and stepped out, grabbing a towel. He wrapped it around his waist and walked back into the bedroom. "Sorry, I didn't bring any new clothes in," he said. Oh, God. He was standing in front of her, all naked and wet and so hot.

She should act like everything was normal. Which meant dressing him.

"Sure," she said, crawling out of the bed and heading to his closet. At least that meant she couldn't see him and his incredible arms.

She pulled out the nicest pair of jeans and a shirt, and turned around, holding them up. "These," she said, somehow managing to smile at him.

"Um, I should go shower too," she said.

	He smiled at her. "Thanks. You have great taste," he said. "Okay sure," he said. "There's towels and shampoo in there. Brooke had hoped a shower and clean clothes would help her think straight again.

It didn't really. Though she did feel fresher, and the aspirin had helped with her headache.

But still, not coming back down to see him would be suspicious, especially when they'd planned to spend the day together. And she did want to spend time with him.

She opened the door to his apartment.

"Hey," she said.

"Well let me know if there's anything else I can do for you."

"I know, me either," he said, glad he hadn't made a move on her when he was drunk, like last time. She didn't feel that way about him anymore and he loved being friends with her. He didn't want to mess that up.

He made the french toast and set a plate in front of her.

"Dig in," he said, taking a bit. He groaned. "So good," he said with his mouth full.

It didn't feel like nothing. Every little thing he was doing for her was reminding her how incredibly sweet he was.

It was going to be so hard to shake this. But she had to shake this.

"Yes," she said.

He mentioned a snow fort with a tunnel and she paused. Oh, God, Peyton. That would do it. Just thinking about Peyton should be enough to convince her that falling for Lucas again would be a bad idea.

She smiled softly. "Yeah, maybe," she said, nodding slightly.

She bit her lip, trying to think of a really good day.

She smiled when she remembered it.

"The day you showed me your room with the red door," she said. "When I realised I could stay there, that I didn't have to leave home," she said.

"And then later, your mom came in to tell me her rules and it was the first time I felt like I had a mom. That was a nice feeling, you know, until she actually grounded me," she said, grinning.

"That's my happy day," she said.
