Morning already?
Who: Lucas and Brooke, CLOSED

When: Sunday Morning
What: Waking up, hungover
Warnings: None so far.

Brooke opened her eyes, and instantly regretted it. It was so bright and her eyes hurt so much.

She winced and buried her head in the pillow. It felt weird, warm and ... solid.

And it was moving - rising and falling. She ran her hand along it, not wanting to risk opening her eyes again.

Okay, not a pillow, a person.

It came rushing back to her - wine and hanging out with Lucas and more wine...

She lifted her head a little, glancing down at his chest. He still had his tshirt on. And she was wearing all of her clothes. So... nothing had happened.

Phew. That would have been awkward.

God, her head hurt.

She lowered it to his chest again, moving was way too much effort right now. And this ... this actually felt kinda nice.

"I know your strong, but you don't have to be with me. That was made me fall in love with you, you seem so strong but underneath everything, you're vulnerable and I've always thought that that was the most beautiful thing about you. You don't have to be scared to show that to me."

She swallowed, looking up at him. For a second she considered just grabbing him and kissing him.

But she just swallowed again, and glanced down. "I just ... feel a little guilty," she said, biting her lip. "Because... Because sometimes I kinda feel more at home here than I've felt in a long time. I mean, it's just like New York. Strange city, far from home... But I'm not alone here."

"And I feel bad because you have more to miss than me. And I know that must be really hard for you."

He stopped walking and turned to look at her.

"Hey, you don't need to feel guilty about that. I'm glad that you feel at home here. And I'm glad I can make it feel a little more like home for you."

He caressed her cheek. "I do miss people from home but I missed you too and I'm glad that I get to spend more time with you. I don't want you to feel guilty about feeling like you're at home. You deserve that and if that means me being here too, that I wouldn't change it if I could."

	She swallowed, smiling up at him. She stepped forward to hug him, burying her head in his chest and squeezing him tight. "I still feel a little bad, that you're away from everyone. 	She swallowed. He loved her, but he'd always be her friend. And that should be enough for her. It wasn't. She pulled back and smiled at him. "Thanks, Luke. You're my best friend too." She smiled wider. "C'mon, let's go to the park," she said. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
