WHO: Dean Winchester and God
WHAT: Skeeball!
WHEN: Early evening
WHERE: One of the skeeball arcades in the city.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

God knew that Dean missed his brother. She knew that he was worried about him, and that his mood wasn't going to improve all that much until Sam was back here, in Colligo, 'safe and sound'. God also knew it wouldn't be long before Sam returned and that Dean had plenty of people he knew to help keep him on the right track until that time.

However, God would be remiss if She didn't jump on the opportunity to re-introduce him to a game he admitted to not having played in quite some time. A game that was bound to cheer him up if only by taking his mind, temporarily, off of the current situation. Not to mention, She knew how anxious Castiel was to share the news of Her arrival, and that he couldn't do so until after this very meeting.

So She set up a time and place, and made certain to bring Her PDA along with Her for the meeting. She had to have some way to communicate with Dean, after all, and didn't want to drag the Metatron to a meeting where She was meant to be incognito.

Arriving a few minutes early, God secured an area of the arcade and simply observed those around Her with a light smile upon Her face. She was wearing Her hair down; the long, dark tresses hung in semi-curls halfway down Her back. The skirt She wore was of an earthy tone rather than bright and obvious. It fell nearly to Her ankles, and had a top that matched to go with it. She still kept on Her flip-flops; covered shoes were simply too much of a hindrance for Her to bother with. All-in-all, though, She looked very much like a happy, relaxed, hippie-esque woman rather than the deity in disguise that She actually was.

Which, She decided as Dean came into sight, was precisely what She wanted at the moment. To blend in, not arouse too much suspicion or attract too large of a crowd, and to enjoy some time with one of Her creations without the added pressure of being the Almighty Creator hanging about.

Once he'd taken his shot, God took Hers. Just like with every game She played, She didn't allow Her own Will to affect the outcome. It always felt a bit like cheating, to have such an advantage over everyone else.

So She relied solely on the limitations of Her mortal vessel rather than anything Divine. Which, really, was proven when the ball fell into the second highest rung as well, rather than the highest in order to give Her a lead.

Picking up Her PDA, She typed out a simple, Or it could be a lucky shot. That teasing, good-natured grin was still upon Her face as She gave him the message. She knew, of course, that skeeball was a combination of skill and luck, and also knew that Dean was quite skilled at it as well as lucky. However, being able to openly tease in a fun-loving way with someone without them afraid She would become vengeful and obliterate them from Creation... it felt nice. She hadn't been able to do that with many others, aside from the Metatron of course.

"Looks like you're no stranger to the game either," he mentioned as her ball hit the second highest rung. Maybe if it was someone like Sammy or someone who at least didn't look like they were on their way to Woodstock the idea of being tied would have brought out a competitive streak but he just couldn't find it playing with her.

"Lucky shot my ass," he said with a good natured grin and picked up his second ball. He lined it up and actually made a face as it only hit the third rung. "Alright, maybe a little lucky," he admitted and chuckled.

The PDA waited, on the flat barrier that held the coins and tickets, between their machines. God plucked up another ball, smiling brightly at his admission that luck probably had a bit to do with it, and took Her next shot.

It rolled up the ramp, hopped over the bump at the end, and fell into the second highest rung. Picking up Her PDA, She typed out a simple, I've been playing for a very long time, and luck has more to do with this game than most people realize. It's the unlucky who find it hard.

Picking up another ball as She handed over Her message, She tossed it idly from hand to hand in small, short bursts as She waited for him to go again. She was curious if he would opt to grow competitive now that She was outscoring him by a bit or if he'd continue to let this be about nothing other than a simple, fun game. Either way, God was certain he would have fun, and that was what was most important.

Now that he was actually playing and getting those old parts of his brain working again, as it usually was with memories of your time as a kid, he started to remember more bits and pieces of days at the arcade with Sammy. At Her message he grinned and shook his head. "Yeah and then you make your own luck by walking up the side of the machine and plunking your balls in," he offered. "I won my brother one of those hand held racing games that way."

Dean picked up his next ball and eyed the ramp suspiciously. He would get one in that elusive top rung today if it was the last thing he did. He shot the ball up the ramp with just a little more gusto than his first and grinned triumphantly after a long moment of teetering it fell into the highest scored rung. "Just like riding a bike."

God clapped, smiling happily when his ball reached the top score. It was definitely impressive, considering She knew just how long it had been since he'd played. Then again, Dean wasn't like most people, so it wasn't overly surprising that he'd easily remembered the mixture of skill and luck that came to playing skeeball.

Her own ball, already in her hand, rolled smoothly up the ramp and over the edge. It hit the top hole but then rolled back, into the second to highest one. God gave a shrug of Her shoulders and picked up Her PDA.

It looks as though I might still need training wheels, hmm?

The joke came as easily to Her as smiling did. As the Metatron told anyone who asked - She did have a sense of humor. And was even capable of not taking Herself too seriously. Although honestly, the fact that She enjoyed skeeball so much should make that obvious.
