	Tempting, however, weighing in the consequence of everyone ~~and by everyone I mean Lily~~ really hating me, it just does not seem worth it. He's one of the untouchables, he gets to tromp around throwing insults, or curses at anyone he wants but the moment you start to fight back they get up in arms about your fault in the whole thing. 1. You are neither my mother nor my father, so do not call me by my full name.

2. His name is Severus. I should hope you would be both intelligent enough to remember that, and mature enough not to use such childish insults. Unfortunately, I appear to be mistaken on that count.

3. If you're about to tell me he's a 'nasty, loathsome Slytherin', your intention must be to be hexed six ways to Sunday. Not only is Severus an admirable man and a brilliant potions master who deserves respect, he has been nothing but nice to me since I arrived. And if I were the sort to base my associations on antiquated and absurd House prejudices, I wouldn't even talk to my own brother. And I'm a Ravenclaw, so appealing to Gryffindor sentimentalities is really rather pointless.

4. Nobody tells me what to do or who to associate with. And nobody condescends to set me straight on anything.

I'm really glad we've had this talk, Sirius.
