Fresh meat
Hey there, hi there, ho there! New player and character, here. My name is Beth and I'm bringing in Reha Melra, younger sister of everyone's favorite blacksmith, Luren Melra.

A city dwarf from Tevinter, Reha has no kind of martial training whatsoever and is very much a civilian. She is a talented trained tapestry-weaver but since that artform is time consuming and doesn't pay as regularly as she'd like, Reha set up shop as a clothier back home. And upon her arrival, she is looking to do the same in Cumberland. While she is absolutely a shameless self-promoter, Reha won't exactly be advertising her real reasons for leaving home (which is to say, she is lowkey procrastinating the whole 'get married and procreate for The Good of Dwarf Kind' thing out of fear that she might be infertile and therefore fail at something for the first time ever).

You can read more about Reha over at her profile. Beyond Luren, she probably won't have many previous connections but as a new arrival in the city looking to build a business she will absolutely interact with anyone and everyone. So, if you have any desire to throw your characters at her in any way, feel free to let me know. I'm pretty much open to anything and really looking forward to playing here!

Welcome, Beth! Thrilled to have you here! This is Maaya, one of your friendly neighborhood mods. ^_^

Most relevant to Reha, I feel, is this lady, Narazda Tethras. She's the local HBIC of the Merchants' Guild, sits on the Assembly, and quietly oversees trade. She's kind of a hardass buuuuuuuuuut fond of Luren because he does good work and no doubt she'd approve of Reha's spunk. Frankly, a woman with good business sense should be RUNNING A BUSINESS, in Narazda's opinion. You can get married and procreate but trade trumps alllll thinnnngs. Come under her wing, bb bird, she will love you.

Also to offer, Noëlle d'Orly ([info]poignards), Orlesian bard and self-admitted clotheshorse. She loves pretty things! She loves politics! She's cheerful and friendly and fun (unless someone pays her to kill you, then maybe not so much). She's friends with Luren!!! I smell the potential for a line~~~

Annnnnnnnnnd finally, I have the kicked puppy Caspian Pentaghast ([info]unfavored), the Warden necromancer with phenomenally shitty luck in life. he only ever wears Warden armor sooooooooooooo idk if there's a connect available. Though he does drink with dwarves a lot, and I think Luren's among them? IDK.

Yeah, at the risk of seeming like a total creeper I have been reading things during the whole application process and I already know in my heart of hearts that Reha fully wants to be Narazda when she grows up. I'm super looking forward to interactions there because Reha will definitely be starry-eyed admiring of Narazda's entire deal but she'll also want to impress Narazda enough to one day be considered a peer rather than a protege-- and the sooner, the better.

I also think Reha will deeply enjoy Noëlle-- not just as a potential customer but as a source of inspiration as well. Reha has never been to Orlais but she digs their attitudes about fashion. And she digs pretty much everyone's stories. If Noëlle tells any tales of Orlesian fashion triumphs and misadventures, she'll have a rapt audience and friend in Reha.

And as for Caspian, just give Reha enough time to figure out the Pentaghasts are The Family to know in this city and that Caspian is one of them and she will surely find some connection to exploit foster into a friendship!

This does not make you a creeper, it makes you just like me. OKAY MAYBE IT JUST MEANS WE'RE BOTH CREEPERS????????????????

I mean Narazda's second in command is still some nebulous NPC but she needs soome proteges, so come along Reha, learn from the lady with Big Plans for the guild.

Noe loves telling absurd stories so I think we'll have an easy win there.

Cas would like to point out that his family hates him and pretends he doesn't exist, so knowing him will not get Reha far. XD

DO THE CREEP

Reha looks forward to learning from Greatness. (And listen, if NPC second-in-command isn't working out, Reha may be willing to sabotage them and make a bid for the position herself one day. Just saying.)

Yay for easy wins with Reha and Noe!

And whyyyyy does Cas's family hate him? Reha genuinely wants to know. As a friend. Tell her all your troubles.

Work hard, reha, and your dreams may come true~

Noe is happy to have a new friend. Excellent.

Cas would like to know if you have all day? Because there's a long list of reasons. No, like really, can we just pretend his last name is like Smith. tyvm

Yes please not like that, you are a little young for him and you really don't need this hot mess who falls in love on a dime mooning after you, either. Just, wow, disaster waiting to happen right there.......... we'll stick to the ale.

Yeah, no worries on that front. Reha is very much of the 'ain't nobody got TIME for that' with regards to romance. Honestly, she gives the whole romance/love/recreational sex thing in general the side-eye. Ale she believes in. And learning more about the royal family's inner-workings from a disowned relative's drunk venting is a solid information-gathering tactic, as far as she's concerned. (For what it's worth, Reha isn't a total monster and would be genuinely sympathetic... just, yanno, genuinely sympathetic with an agenda, is all.)

The more you tell me about her, the more she sounds like a mini Noe with some Narazda thrown in. Of course I adore her already (Cas just wants someone to care about his issues, he ain't even mad).

I'm really looking forward to her interactions with Noe and Narazda, both. (And Cas too. Reha totally cares about your issues, dude. I mean, ultimately she cares for totally selfish reasons, but it's still caring. That counts, right?)

Hello hello! I'm Vicki, and I have the one so far but next week I'll have a second we should totes discuss about, too.

The one in game at the moment is this dwarf lady, Midha Aenoch, who is a Grey Warden, used to run with the Carta and other criminals until she got conscripted, etc. Aside from the dwarf thing I have no idea how to connect them? Midha is hopeless with clothes and fashion and has no interest in it besides. XDDDD;;; But I'm def open to ideas!!! (I mean, she's one of those stereotypical dwarves who can often be found in pubs drinking all non-dwarves under the table, so~? XDDDDD)

A MUCH easier connection will be my incoming City Elf who will be working for a fancy clothier in the marketplace and unlike Midha is totally into fashion and stuff. I'll send you an email as soon as I get some free time at work about potential lines and such~ <333333333

Emailed you back about the other thing. :D

And okay, admittedly both Reha and Midha being dwarf women is a very minimal reason for connection but Reha is used to having a bunch of female friends back home. And as she will be living with her brother and hanging out with his friends to start out, Reha will probably latch on any chance to make another dwarf lady friend with a greedy eagerness that could be alarming. So, get ready for a SUPER FRIENDLY Reha the moment you cross her path, Midha.

Yes yay! <3

Yeah, the dwarf lady thing is a thin connection reasoning but yeah, totes can use the other dwarven connects to get them connected. Hilariously, with Reha's CR with Narazda, that could make things deliciously interesting for Reha's and Midha's dynamic since Midha looooooooathes Narazda and Narazda Disapproves -100 of Midha (maybe just -50 now that she's a Grey Warden??????) lmao. Midha isn't used to SUPER FRIENDLY, so she might be a bit weirded out, but she'll probably warm to Reha eventually since Midha really is a friendly sort even if she's not exactly the best influence ever on........ anybody lbh. XDD

Can't we dwarf ladies all just get along, Reha wonders. No? Very well. She'll settle for getting along with all the dwarf ladies, herself then.

And fair warning, as Reha makes a mission of befriending Midha, she will also make another, even more secret mission to one day see Midha in a dress. But in the meantime though, Reha does genuinely admire Midha's light armor and appreciates the functionality and totally wants to know what tanner Midha goes to for her leather.

HELLO SISTER.

He has tons of friends. Loads of friends. She can have all of his friends. He's probably talked you up to them in the past. :) He's very happy to have his sister there, and he will stop from making jokes about the babies, promise. I'll put up a post and have him introduce her too if that helps. :D

I have Ashi Myrrdin [info]stepinthelight who is a human mage in the Circle, a Spirit Healer, who trains other mages. She actually might easily be a customer, since outside of the robes she does come by for clothing or something related to that. She's very friendly and well mannered and ladylike despite being a mage.

I also have Vathra [info]herownhero who is an Elf and Antivan Crow and she doesn't really come around much often. But you never know if they'll run into each other since she's in the city.

HELLO BROTHER :D :D :D

Reha will totally take advantage of all the hospitality and generosity (and give him a world of crap if he gets in on that marriage and babies talk) but she totes appreciates it all, bro.

Reha will also appreciate Ashi's business, please and thank you. I imagine that Reha had her fair share of mage customers back in Tevinter so she might have certain expectations about Ashi being like the mages back home. But I still think they'll get on like a house on fire.

As for Vathra, I don't have any particular ideas... but random run-ins can be fun! We shall see what happens.

Helloooooo.

So Sabrina here has spent most her life in Minrathous and is only a couple of years younger than Reha. If you wanted, they cooooould have some kind of friendly background or what have you. Sabrina loves fashion and stays on top of it. So if nothing else, she could be an old customer.

Asmund [info]intentioned is an exiled dwarf from Orzammar, a warrior who longed to be part of the Legion of the Dead. Technically being exiled saved him from an arranged marriage he was very *shrugs* about. So he can sympathize on that. But you know, he thinks Reha's far too pretty to fail at anything ;););) He's friends with your brother.

Lastly, Pilar [info]deathward is a senior Mortalitasi mage from Nevarra who is tied in with politics. She cares a great deal about wearing high quality clothing but not the flashiest. She does go about the city and talk with normal folks.

I would LOVE for Sabrina to have been a customer of Reha's in Minrathous. Back home, Reha would've definitely been friendly towards customers like Sabrina but not exactly friends with them, since she had her family and dwarf community to lean on. But now that she is in Cumberland, Reha would be very keen to latch on to a familiar face and foster a closer, more genuine friendship given the chance-- if you're down for that?

Asmund probably won't know Reha's reasons for leaving home right away (unless Luren tells him, in which case Reha would be a very unhappy camper) but the whole marriage avoidance thing is definitely common ground they could bond over (if Reha got over herself enough to share it). In the meantime though, Reha wants to hear literally everything about Ozarmmar!!! Asmund should brace himself for NON-STOP questions about every last detail. (Apologies if this opens old wounds for him. Reha is too excited to talk to somebody from Ozarmmar firsthand to remember to be sensitive.)

And Reha would very much like Pilar to be a customer. Reha promises she only deals in the very best, well-made fabrics (a Melra family value instilled in her very young). And although Reha definitely favors flashier fashion for herself, she has a lot of respect for beautiful women who can rock the classic elegance. (And, of course, if she gets to know Pilar beyond the initial 'now there is a classy customer' snap judgment, Reha would really appreciate someone of Pilar's standing as a customer).

Yes yes yesssss. Hee hee, and she was making A LOT OF CLOTHES in anticipation of this trip. So she would have been there a lot in the last couple months. And yeah, Sabrina is more of an introvert by nature, extrovert by... profession. So familiarity with is a good starting point. But she definitely will need more friends here, more real friends. Sabrina will not, uh, be lasting the entire game, but that just means we should move on their friendship sooner than later.

Asmund hopes Luren respects the girl's privacy, but you know, however that goes. Oh stone, that's a complicated feeling. Asmund absolutely LOVED Orzammar and everything about it (with especially lots of <333 for the proving grounds), so like yes he will tell her stories. But then there's the heartbreak of being tricked into exile to save his bff's life and all. So... a mix.

Pilar has presence without drawing attention to herself. You know, the dead don't really notice what you wear when dealing with them~~~ And she's an advisor to the king, so not trying to be in the spotlight. But yes, she is great to have as a customer ;)

Hi! I'm Deli and this is Valentine, third son of a family of textile merchants from Orlais. He is a bard and general Nice Guy, and quite interested in seeing some Dwarven wares!

Ooooooh, this has the potential to be so much fun! Reha is fascinated by Orlais just as a concept and she really loves their attitudes towards fashion. Plus, she enjoys the entertainments that bards have to offer. So, on the one hand, she would be delighted to get to know Val, personally. On the other hand, his family are the competition. And as they are not even fellow dwarves in the same industry, Reha wouldn't show much restraint at all in actively competing with Val's family if they have any dealings in Cumberland-- even if she was friendly with Val before realizing who his family was. At the end of the day, Reha is all about advancing her own business first.

YES MORE CIVILIANS. ISOLDE SOBS IN RELIEF. I mean what?

Hi! I'm Sherri, the other half of the modly duo in these parts.

I feel like Oz is the most relevant since he's friends with Luren. :D He's kind of a flirt (and by kind of, I mean, totally a flirt) and very loose with his affection. He will love Reha just because he loves Luren. :D He's also a warrior and a member of the Carta, so. >.>

Isolde ([info]dirigo) is the Duchess of Cumberland, and will likely peruse her wares. SHE IS A CIVILIAN SO YAY MORE CIVVIES!

Shae ([info]notmycircus) is an elven rogue with the Antivan Crows and... might try to steal from Reha's stall because she's kind of a bitch and that's what she does sigh I am sorry for her in advance.

WELCOME ABOARD!

CIVILIAN PARTY! WOOHOO! (Okay, but legit Reha is gonna be SO UPSET when she finds out she missed Isolde's party. It's gonna be hilarious. Watch.)

Reha is of the 'a friend of Luren's is a friend of mine' thought, even if she is wary of the Carta. (Sure, sure, she and Luren have some relatives on their mother's side involved in the Carta too but omg that is on the downlow, as far as Reha is concerned.) And any flirtation in Reha's direction will likely be ignored and/or deflected and/or dismissed with an eyeroll because as nice as flattery and attention are, ain't nobody got TIME for that.

Once Reha figures out who Isolde is (and that she MISSED Isolde's BALL! *SOBS*), Reha will be HIGHLY motivated to secure Isolde as a customer. So, enjoy being catered to by a very eager-to-please clothier/tapestry weaver.

As for Shae... please, please, please, PLEASE steal from Reha at some point. Reha would lose her MIND over it and I would have so much fun playing Reha on the warpath.

WOOT! (LMAO It's okay, there'll be more. Probably.)

Yes, good, Oz loves you already, Reri. (I am sorry for him in advance. He's big on nicknames.) And it's okay to be wary of Carta (that's smart, tbh), but be more wary of Narazda because she crazy. As far as Oz is concerned, anyway. XD Oz will continue to flirt because that's his thing, but he will not be upset that nothing pans out. :)

LOLOL Yes, good. Isolde approves of this. :D

It will be done, then. :D Shae has sticky fingers.

Hi there! I'm Cheryl, and I only have one for now. Rook is a Dalish elf who ran away as a teen to find ~adventure~. The wide world wasn't quite what she expected, but she is still very upbeat and cheerful. She's a bard (and a thief, but mostly doesn't admit that part). She's very friendly and talkative - and very curious (nosy), so she'd probably talk to her, if nothing else!
