4/2 A Rude Awakening

A standard Deep Roads watch by Ilshae Alerion and Asmund Astyth takes an unexpected turn as a large darkspawn raiding group makes an attempt to reach the surface. Those Wardens lucky enough to be asleep are awakened in time to provide assistance thanks to a particularly vivid nightmare starring the Archdemon. The darkspawn are contained before they can escape the outpost and threaten the city.

4/5 The March Begins

With the Archdemon at last sighted on the surface, Warden Commander Frieda Ortan orders the Deep Roads entrance sealed, then calls for the remaining Warden forces to march north along with one final Nevarran military contingent. Those who wish to fight for Thedas without joining the Order or the army are also encouraged to join the march. (note that characters who leave with the Wardens will not be able to return to cumberland until may.)

4/12 Chantry Board: Routing the Highwaymen

With the majority of the Nevarran army dispatched to the front, certain unsavory elements are making themselves known on the roads surrounding the city. The Chantry puts out a bounty on the raiders along the Imperial Highway. Lev Tagaris, Godric Tagaris, and Ostrich Tranador take the job. When they locate the bandit camp, they find themselves greatly outnumbered — at least, until unexpected allies emerge from the woods.

4/15 The Going Water and the Gone

A week and half on their journey to Hunter Fell, the Grey Wardens receive word of missing mages, all of whom specialized in creation magic and spirit healing. As they begin to track one of the missing mages, Salladin, a rogue of Clan Ralaferin, reveals herself to them. Keeper Dhaveira has also been taken away by this kidnapper, who is none other than Revnas, the elven mage who led Iveani Ralaferin to be captured by the templars. Enlisting the help of Caspian Pentaghast and Rosalind Margrace, along with the unexpected addition of Drusilla Branas, the young healer sets out to save her clan.

4/22 Darkspawn in the Dungeon

With the Wardens gone from Cumberland and the Deep Roads entrance sealed, the citizenry seem to have little to do but wait. Unfortunately, things rarely work out so simply: a breach from underground to the hidden escape tunnels under the palace leads to an unexpected darkspawn incursion inside the palace itself, with King Markus Pentaghast and Princess Alia Pentaghast facing the first wave unprepared. The incursion quickly spreads, with the battle extending to envelop most of the city overnight and citizens forced to take up arms and build barricades to ensure their survival.

4/23 The Battle of Hunter Fell

The armies of the continent and the darkspawn clash in the abandoned city of Hunter Fell, with Archdemon Toth looming large over the battlefield. Late in the day, Caspian Pentaghast, Midha Aenoch, Ilshae Alerion, Bastien Montbelliard, and Takwana Nandoro finally manage to fight through the waves of darkspawn to challenge the Archdemon. The battle ends at last with Caspian Pentaghast sacrificing himself to slay the dragon, sending the remaining darkspawn fleeing and ending the Blight. (characters who aren’t listed here are encouraged to log their own battles vs. darkspawn, but only these five characters will reach the archdemon.)

4/26 Letters from the Front

The Archdemon’s defeat would seem to mark the end of the collaboration between the great powers of Thedas. A look at the private correspondence of Ambassador Manon de Freyen and Ambassador Octavius Alexius hints at what’s to come.

Drakonis began with a wild storm blowing in from the sea. Raziya Nadhari found her ship involved in a shipwreck in the harbor when a vessel carrying refugees from the Free Marches lost control of its rudder. At first, this seemed an isolated incident, and the weather cleared up nicely for the wedding of Luren Melra and Oswulf Tranador.

Unfortunately, some of the people running from the Blight brought illness with them, and between the refugees and the blighted animals outside the gates, the taint began to spread in the city, with the Wardens doing their best to contain it. Several of the ill were given the option to undergo the Joining. Some survived while others died. The Wardens had other matters to take care of, too, with continued tests of the Tevene weapon culminating in success in the field.

Meanwhile, things for the Crows got unexpectedly complicated when Manon de Freyen took out a contract on Sebastien Van Markham. Unfortunately, the assignment put Idril in a delicate situation, as completing it would mean her well-kept secrets would reach her Crow superiors. Accordingly, she had to sabotage all attempts made by Cassidy until she could find some way out of her predicament. That way out came via a commission from Marin Voclain, who had resolved to die on his own terms before Noëlle d’Orly and Bastien Montbelliard could uncover his secret. Successful preparation led to a spectacular showdown in front of the Chantry.

But while the rest of the city was still reeling from these high-profile deaths, Drusilla Branas quietly abducted Sorin Ghrian to use his blood in her continued experiments. It took several days of searching before Godric Tagaris and Lev Tagaris were able to rescue him. After regrouping for several days, the brothers finally challenged the mages, leading to the death of Tatiana Helos.

plot pc requests

The plot events associated with endgame offer the opportunity to pick up some side characters if you’re interested. You’re still welcome to pick up Grey Wardens, existing or new. In addition, the Routing the Highwaymen event introduces the various associates of Vincent Tagaris, all of whom are also available. These characters can last through the final battle or even through the end of the game.

Remember that temp PCs are your chance to play a plot character. These characters are not subject to AC, do not count against your character limit, are not subject to class/specialization caps, and are meant to last a short time. For more details, see the Announcements below.

announcements

  • The April plot will take place in two locations: Cumberland and Hunter Fell. Characters will be able to volunteer to go and fight with the Wardens (with or without joining the Order) or choose to remain in the city. Different events will be open to your characters based on what you choose. Please note that the network works only in Cumberland, so those characters who go to the front will be unable to utilize it.

  • For the plot events that require a limited number of PCs, such as the Chantry board, sign-ups are located below. The mods will dropbox or e-mail you relevant information in advance so you can log out your plot.

  • For the events on the 22-23 which comprise the end of the Blight, there will be a separate plotting post with more information at least a week prior.

  • Don't forget that for your AC, one of your two submissions needs to happen in the first 14 days of the month. April will be the last month of AC as the game will close at the end of May. Note that there are plot events in May to tie up loose ends after the defeat of the Blight, so if you want to participate in these as well as the epilogue, you will have to pass AC for April.

  • The temp PC opportunities for April include: Grey Wardens and members of the Tagaris mercenary band. If you have a desire to play a different temp who you feel may be relevant to the plot, please come to the mods with your idea, and we will work it in if possible.

  • Remember that temp PCs are meant to be expendable. What happens to your temp PC will be determined by the needs of the plot. Once you have completed the mini app, mods will contact you with the NPC journal password and instructions for your temp character’s role in plot. To app a temp PC, please provide the following under the appropriate comment below:
