Pre-Game Meme #2!
The game opens tomorrow! Who's excited? (Hint: your mods.) As we've been getting an influx of apps over the last few days, let's have another meme. It may be a bit simpler than the first one, though that one is still open to responses~ We present...

TWO LIES AND A TRUTH MEME

The rules are as follows:

OOC Rules:

  1. These are for fun, and therefore completely voluntary.

  2. These will not affect actual IC in-game interactions unless the players collaborate and decide they want to incorporate some of the things from this meme into the real game when it begins.

  3. Please post all replies to this meme on this post. Get creative~

  4. Have fun!

IC Things:

  1. Your character decides to share three facts about him or herself on the network.

  2. There's a twist: two facts are false, but one is true. Note that your character isn't obligated to tell people which is which.

  3. Other characters can make guesses regarding which fact is true and ask questions, start conversations, or generally heckle each other as appropriate.

Have fun!

1. I once defeated a Templar acquaintance in an arm wrestling contest. He claims I cheated, but I didn't.
2. I have a secret correspondent. We have been sending letters to each other for over ten years.
3. I have a tolerably nice singing voice, but I can only be persuaded to use it when I'm very, very drunk.

Or the lie is that you cheated.

[..................................] Your opinion of my honor has been noted repeatedly, Senior Enchanter.

I didn't cheat. I also didn't win, although it was close.

My knowledge of every arm wrestling match between templar and mage is limited. It's not what I pay attention to. Once honor has been besmirched, it's difficult to know where it ends.

Shame on him if he loses.

What I did had nothing to do with honor and everything to do with foolishness and poor judgment on my part. I will stand by the fact that these things are not the same.

As for my Templar acquaintance, he may lose an arm wrestling match to me yet. I've been practicing with dwarven warriors.

You have many ways of preventing yourself from following through on foolishness and poor judgment. And had your honor meant so much to you, you would not let activities progress so far. You disrespected the dead, one of those who would be entrusted to our care. You would not treat a child so, would you?

Don't gloat too loudly if you win.

I see someone guessed the second. Are you still in touch with anyone here in the Circle?

I think telling you that I was might reflect poorly on anyone who dared still call me friend.

Loyalty is a good quality, and my ill opinion of you does not wash over onto anyone you interact with.

Be that as it may, I would not need to correspond with someone at the Circle for over 10 years, as I only left 6 years ago.

There are other Circles to correspond with. I always stay in touch with people that way. Moving from one place to another is no reason to say goodbye for good.

No, I don't know anyone in any other Circle. I was very young when I came to the Cumberland Circle, and have never been transferred. Unfortunately, you're wrong.

It is not so much a matter of wrong as having misplaced yet another piece of hope. But perhaps I should have introduced you to them and to letters much earlier. As you must have learned by now, the world is so much larger than Cumberland Circle.

I am now also a disappointment because I did not correspond with people I never had any opportunity to know? Apologies. Your standards are

In any case, I will agree that the world is large and full of thought-provoking things. I have seen my share of them in the last 6 years.

No, the disappointment lays with me. With a larger group, you may have done well with their influences. People listen to their peers on matters they would never heed their mentors.

Nevarra has had need of the Wardens, so it's not surprising to see you return.

Naturally, it must be that I missed my calling as a drunken bard.

Oh, we're too selective to take every amateur drinker in Cumberland, at least for now.
