In the back of her mind, she denied it. He can't be really gone, simply can not. Can not. She had ripped the hotel apart, banging on his door, before finally kicking it open and to finding it.... empty.
"No..." Ripping that room apart, searching for something, ANYTHING to show that he had not left. Denying her discovery as she punched and kicked at the walls.
"Cloud!" Dashing out of the room, boots echoing in the hall as she ran, running, not wanting to stop until she found him. Easier to believe that he had found another room to stay in, easier to believe that. She was not willing to accept that this place had taken away what she had held most important to her. Refused. Refusing.
Hair flying behind her, she came to a halt by the hotel's entrance. Just maybe his motorcycle was still around, just maybe... Tearing through the left over snow, she knew where he kept his bike, it if were there, he was still around. Hope lingered in her for that, hope that was stubborn and refused to die out.
Skidding halt where she knew the motorcycle had been, she shattered. Gone, he was really gone.
She had no idea how long she'd been sitting here. At the beach, ignoring people walking behind her. Her bar wasn't open yet, so she didn't have to worry about customers. The bar was the last thing on her mind as she sat there, legs pulled up to her chest, arms wrapping around them. Tifa let the tears fall, let them stream down her face, sobs weren't coming out, but she found herself humming that song... that song she had put into Cloud's Christmas gift.
I'll be yours until the sun doesn't shine
Till time stands still
Until the winds don't blow
When today is just a memory to me
I know.....
I'll still be loving
I'll still be loving
You
I'll still be loving you
Hums slowly turned into song, singing with all her heart now. Praying to whatever Gods here, that he was home, home to where he belonged, taking care of what he held most precious to him. "Better not let go..." Whispering between the words in the song. Not bothering to stop singing or wipe away the tears, she knew. Knew that he was better off not being here, but rather at home.
It hurt. Losing someone like this, losing your best friend. Losing someone some important to you that you'll go looking for them and search the ends of the Earth for them. Putting dents in the walls, it hurt. Then that hurt turned into pure sorrow as she realizes that she won't see his smile again, won't hear his voice again, as long as this place kept him away from her.... she won't feel him, feel his touch on her to comfort her, his kisses on her forehead.
I'll still be loving you...
