Dear Clockwork

Are you enjoying yourself? It's nice weather, isn't it? And not only that, old friends are coming to visit! Remember the lovely, lovely T-rex lady of a little while ago?

She's back~

She does seem to be looking a little different but that might just be your eyes betraying you, right? And as T-rexs and heartless are wont to do, she is gobbling up little NPCs left and right~ Oddly enough there is no blood. In fact, it's like their bodies just seem to vanish the moment she sinks her teeth in, leaving just flittery, living shadows. Curious and curiouser.

Have fun, Clockwork. Don't let the darkness eat cha.

♥ - Organization NAMBLA II & VI

Enjoying the rain so far? Well, you're getting a nice rolling thunder and lighting flashes all during that, as well. Once midnight hits, however, the hotel gets a loud KER-POP, and all the power goes out temporarily, except for your laptops. Oh no? Well, that's expected (...kinda). It's a storm, right..?

BOOM.

--the ground shakes. Maybe something fell over... the night is dead quiet aside from the sound of the rain pouring and the thunder crashing. Wait--

BOOOM.

--another shake. An earthquake? No, that's too awkward in the middle of a thunderstorm...

Thunder claps again, a strange shadow flickering through the windows of the fourth floor and lower. Another ground shake as it goes dark again... what is that odd rumbling? That's no car you've ever heard... almost like a loud purr... or a snarl?

One more flash, and for a few people who happen to be looking out their windows on the fourth and third floors? Say hello to a giant reptilian eye staring right back at you, followed by a glaringly loud dinosaur's roar.

Mister T-Rex says hello, Clockwork. And he brought friends.


( Meet Your New Neighbors )

Come Monday, all the dinosaurs will be whisked over to the ruins near the edge of the city and will "reset" there at noon and midnight every day afterwards, even if they were on the complete opposite side of the city before the time of resetting. Think of it as a spawn point. Yes, the dinosaurs are staying after this.

BUT! That doesn't mean some of them won't be capturable as pets. You're better off trying to steal an egg, but anything your character can pick up? Won't reset. However, if you try to take more than one... the larger of the two will be sent back to the ruins at the reset time, regardless of how you tied it down or caged it up. Too bad. The city doesn't really need you breeding an army of attack dinosaurs (oops, evil plan #309 out the door there).

But until then? Enjoy your dinosaur invasion! Be careful not to get eaten by any of the hungry carnivores, eh? Keep in mind these aren't mindless zombies like our beloved NPCs were for awhile. These are wild animals, and many of them dangerous!

Sadly, several NPCs will be made into delicious dinner by our friend Mr. T-Rex. :(

Since Friday has passed, the festival has ended this week, and the streets are back to their usual status.

But! To finish off the festival, last night was a large round of fireworks, fireworks and more fireworks!

So your characters might have enjoyed those last night! (Backlogs are your friends, for those of you who missed this week)


Don't worry though, this won't be the only event. More will come up later, but you all get a break for now.

Festival Week in the City!

What's going on? Well, our now-lively little NPCs have gotten together and prepared the city streets and shops for a special festival that last from Monday, May 4th to Friday, May 8th. Not to worry; this isn't a curse of any sort, but an event.

Starting on Monday around Noon [CST], all the streets and shops in the city will be lined with flowers, plants, ribbons, and various other decorations in honor of a few holidays from around the world, in order to give the hotel residents a little piece of home for the week.

The following two holidays will be the "main" holidays being celebrated this week (since it's still Golden Week in Japan), but are not limited to these alone-- you may have characters say there's things set up for your characters' countries or home worlds in another street if they're from someplace other than what will be listed here, but this should give you a general idea of how things work for the week during the festivities.

There will be plenty of themed snacks and treats being handed out, as well, so you won't go hungry during these celebrations. Examples are (but are not limited to):

Taiyaki, mochi, loooots of sushi, sashimi, sake (and various other alcoholic drinks, sob), okonomiyaki...

ANYWAYS!

May 4th:
[Greenery Day] from Japan

The streets will be lined with a large assortment of flowers, plants, and nature-related decorations, and all the NPCs will be encouraging characters to be kindhearted and caring for all the flora and fauna during this day. Your character might even occasionally get several gifts of houseplants and flower bouquets from the NPCs as well, whether they want them or not. |D

Amaterasu shall likely be assisting with the greenery for this, so don't be surprised if trees and flowers suddenly pop out of nowhere nearby your character as they explore the streets.

May 5th:
[Children's Day] from Japan

Since there's a few children around the hotel (and kids at heart), this day is for them. NPCs will be handing out handmade dolls and toys to all the little boys and girls, passing around kites, toy cars, hand-carved wooden animals, and various other things like that.

Just because those start on those days doesn't mean they end after the day is over-- both will go on throughout the rest of the week, as well as whatever other holidays you guys happen to want to add to the pile here. HOWEVER. All festivities for the week will end after Midnight, May 8th [CST].
