Who: Rachel and L
When: Love at first sight day.
Where: Training ground.
Rating: PG-13?
Warnings: Head bashing stubbornness from both parties involved.
Summary: L and Rachel schedule a practice unaware that they will be falling in love with one another when they first make eye contact.
L had arrived early to set the area up for them, marking off a square parameter roughly 75ft wide using a field striping machine he had found near the ladder he had used the other day. He knew she had said she could handle wider distances with her powers, but today he wanted to see what Rachel could do with close range situations before the two of them practiced with an area such as in or around the mansion.
And he would be walking away today with some valuable information. What he specifically wished to learn from this session was how well she can handle pressure and thinking on her toes, get some idea as to what he could expect from her in future practices, and learn of any weaknesses she had he could potentially take advantage of. With those things in mind, he might be able to help spot areas where Rachel needed to improve, and the more prepared she was to handle an opponent the better.
So today, practice was going to take place in a small, grassy spot a just at the edge of the outdoor portion of the training ground. L believed it was a good place for what they were doing. It lay far enough from the building so it wasn’t too likely they would bother or be bothered by anyone, and it was slightly blocked off from complete view by a line of evenly spaced trees so the two of them would have some degree of privacy.
The whole idea of this activity was making him nervous though. But L would never let anyone become aware of it. It was just that the potential for injury was high, and he was not used to putting himself at such risk. But then again he was doing a lot of things here that he wasn’t used to.
