Someone's Gotta Pay The Price
Part II
Who: Main: Sal, Mitch, Midvalley, Jazz, Banru / Secondary: Eileen and Henry
When: Three Days after Halloween Party
Where: Lawns of Niflheim, Halls of Niflheim
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Language, Fighting
Summary: Sal takes Mitch back to Niflheim under false pretenses and then fights him on Niflheim's lawns. Banru keeps an eye on Sal from a secret location, his magick keeping the killer from being hurt. Sal, once beating Mitch, drags him into Niflheim to find and kill Midvalley. He has it set up in such a way that Jazz is there at the time Mitch confronts Midvalley. Meanwhile, Eileen and Henry regroup and return to rescue Mitch.
After the incident with Eileen and Henry, Sal had released them back to Asgard, threatening to kill them if they didn't leave Mitch with him. He further added that Mitch wouldn't be harmed under his care; that he just wanted to talk with the firestarter. Whether or not Eileen and Henry truly believed that, it didn't matter, because he walked back to Niflheim with an arm over Mitch's shoulder anyway.
He lead the boy through the forest with very little conversation. Whatever did come out of his mouth did almost sound harmless, friendly even, though both of them knew there was nothing friendly about their relationship. Sal was keenly aware that Banru was still in Niflheim, casting a spell to protect the asexual, and this was the only thing that kept him from doing something stupid. Banru's assistance was an unmatched asset - he'd be a fool to ruin it.
No, his intentions were focused solely on overcoming Mitch and using him to exact revenge on Jazz. It wasn't that Jazz had done anything, but he as a being frustrated and annoyed Sal to the point that he wanted to cause him pain. And Sal knew very well that Midvalley was a great weakness of Jazz's. It wasn't anything personal. But it was two birds, one stone. Kill Midvalley and break Jazz. Have Mitch murder a semi-innocent man and live with the guilt for the rest of his life. With Banru on his side, things couldn't go wrong.
So when they reached the lawns of Niflheim, Sal grinned at Mitch. "We're home, kiddo."
