Who: Alfie Cattermole & Julien Dorny
When: Monday night
Where: Abandoned classroom #52
What: Comfort and confessions
Rating: PG-13?
Since the Christmas holidays had left them holed up together in the castle, Alfie and Julien had gotten closer than their tutor/tutee bond would allow, making them actual friends. Of course this had been the case before, but it wasn't built upon the way it was now. Spending time together that hadn't been while learning boring but necessary facts of cowering in fear at screaming fireworks had meant they'd spoken about themselves. Julien had never had a friend that he knew as well as he thought he knew Alfie, although Julien had never really had that many friends at all.
It had gotten to the point where Julien, previously a wallflower even among wallflowers, had made it a habit to find Alfie when he wasn't studying (which he was doing less of with the other boy around) 'hanging out' in a way he never had before. It had died a little when school started back up, Julien panicking about the work he'd neglected but not able to feel bad about it because he'd been spending time with Alfie instead, but he still looked for him between classes and after meals.
He hadn't seen Alfie almost all day and the absence was making part of him ache. He felt edgy and anxious in a way he'd only ever really felt around exams or fireworks or papers three weeks due and he didn't even realise it. He checked the great hall thoroughly, asked outside the Hufflepuff dorms and even checked the library but couldn't find Alfie anywhere. He started walking aimlessly, trying to find him, and it was like his feet knew where to go even though he didn't. He found himself outside the classroom they'd spent hours in practicing and studying and although he didn't think that Alfie would ever come here, he somehow realised that this is where he'd be.
He pushed the door open a little and stuck his head round. "Alfie?"
