Who: John Dawlish & Rolf Scamander
What: Move-in day.
Where: The new flat in Tavistock Place
When: This afternoon
Warnings/Rating: TBA/Low
One of the first things John realized as he'd been unpacking the boxes he'd piled in his new bedroom was that he didn't seem to have as many things as he remembered. This place was larger, of course - when flat-shopping for two he'd kept a slightly sharper eye out for quality than he might have otherwise - and that may have had something to do with it. Still, he suspected that if he were to come up with a list of everything that was suddenly missing, it might closely match the contents of his former landlord's waste container from about a week ago. It likely wasn't a list worth drawing up in the first place, but it did rankle a bit.
That seemed to be the only hitch so far, though. Not bad for finding a flat, a flatmate, and the time to physically move house in the space of seven days.
And it hadn't been a bad find - it was clean and well-lit and convenient, at least, if not what could be called posh. He was pretty pleased with the set-up, he thought, as he carried the last of his packing paper to stuff into the bin in the kitchen; and Rolf had been a pleasant surprise, easy to get along with and apparently quite easy to please, even if he seemed a touch inquisitive. That was only to be expected in someone who'd only just arrived, though. London wasn't an easy city to jump into. Everything should carry off rather well. The only thing he needed to fix was that the previous tenant seemed to have kept the sofa with its back shoved up against the windows, which was, frankly, stupid. He went into the sitting room to Levitate it into a more reasonable position, and let it hover for a minute in front of the hearth before moving it back against the opposite wall.
