The Ministry Falls
Across the country as things went dark, Bonfire Night fireworks began. As soon as those first bursts began in the sky, the marks of all Death Eaters burned, summoning them to their Lord’s side. The place, this time, a home in London.
There are two bodies, freshly killed, and Bellatrix sits between them on the sofa. Voldemort explains that the woman is a halfblood who dirtied herself by marrying a muggle. The two have a daughter who’s currently disgracing wizardingkind by being taught at Hogwarts. Obviously, this must be stopped. The dead bodies are Kathleen Li and Jun Li, Su’s parents. This is their house. There are pictures of the two with their daughter around, if anyone happens to recognize her.
Voldemort reveals that over the last several days the way has been cleared at the Ministry for the next step in His plan. And that tonight the Ministry, and power over Wizarding Britian, will be His.
He then orders them en masse to the Ministry, where the Minister and several high ranking cabinet members are working over the weekend on important legislation. Now, it has been game canon that the Ministry, even though it isn’t ‘working’ on weekends, generally still has quite a few people who are there working on things, etc. Death Eaters are assigned specific areas of the Ministry and told that they had one purpose: convince the people working there to follow them, or kill them.
And, of course, if the people working are known muggleborns, they can be killed on sight.
Working our way up the Ministry, here are the assignments. The listed DE is not the ONLY DE who will be at that level, just the played or major DE who will be there. You can assume there are three - five ‘red shirt’ DEs who are there with you. IF YOU DID NOT GET AN ASSIGNMENT PLEASE COMMENT AND YOU WILL GET ONE!
GROUND LEVEL: The Atrium
They enter here, Bellatrix and whoever wants to help her destroys the fountain. Not because she was told to, she just wanted to.
LEVEL ONE: Department of Administration and Maintenance
Not exactly a high priority but, oddly enough, has a lot of muggleborns on staff who DO work during the weekends, because they work the off hours. So this will basically be a path of bloodshed tonight. Fenrir Greyback gets this job.
LEVEL TWO: The Ministry Press and Records
These offices are not staffed tonight, so won’t be an issue. Argus Pyrites is sent here to begin drafting press releases.
LEVEL THREE: Department of International Magical Cooperation
International Confederation of Wizards - Antonin Dolohov
International Magical Office of Law - Marcus Montague
International Magical Trading Standards Body - Igor Karkaroff
Ludicrous Patents office - Antigone Ivanova
LEVEL FOUR: Department of Regulation and Control of Magical
Creatures
Being Department - Mercy Macnair
Beast Department - Walden Macnair
Spirit Department - Malcolm Macnair
LEVEL FIVE: Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes
Accidental Magic Reversal Squad - Demetrius Avery
Invisibility Task Force - This office appears to be completly empty. Osric Bulstrode
Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee - Ioan Gibbon
LEVEL SIX: Department of Magical Transportation
Portkey Offices - Weiland Mulciber
Offices of the Floo Network Authority - Amycus Carrow
Broom Regulatory Control Offices - Alecto Carrow
Apparition Testing Office - Severus Snape
LEVEL SEVEN: Department of Magical Games and Sports
British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters - Rabastan Lestrange
Winged Horse Racing Headquarters - Annabelle Rosier
Rules and Standards Offices: Various Games and Sports - Rodolphus Lestrange
LEVEL EIGHT: Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Magical Law Enforcement Bureau - Cale Jugson
Improper Use of Magic Offices - Zeth Yaxley
LEVEL NINE: Department of Mysteries
Alexander Greengrass
LEVEL TEN: The Wizengamot
Court is not in session today obviously, so this is not an issue, though a few Wizengamot members will be getting home visits at some point soon. Zeth Yaxley will be taking care of those Wizengamot members who won't turn.
LEVEL ELEVEN: Office of the Minister of Magic and Executive Cabinet
Lucius, Bellatrix, Pius Thicknesse, and the Dark Lord It will be a room full of bloodshed, and some cabinet members imperioed and/or agreeing that Pius will make a great Minister.
Immediately after the Ministry is secured, Bellatrix is taking Alexander Greengrass, her new pet, and paying a visit to the home of Barnabus Cuffe.
I’m going to start subthreads for each level of the Ministry.
Death Eaters can be masked if they choose to be, or open. DEs, comment if you were masked or not. How well you did your job. Etc. Anyone can feel free to post in with NPC family members and/or just random NPCs for you to terrify/kill/turn/etc. We need a variety of NPCs. From supporters who are glad to give help to the DEs, to people turning out of fear, to people escaping, to muggleborns dying! So jump in with whoever you’d like. While this thread will be IC/OOC, it would be fun to see some subthreads with some of the attack played out! However, it IS Saturday, and a holiday, so they offices would not be all that busy, so bear that in mind. Most groups of DEs will not meet more than ten people or so in any given office.
Order Members - Snape is going to manage to get patronus messages to Order members about this going down, so Order members can feel free to swarm to the Ministry’s aid. Unfortunately, they will not win the day, but you can feel free to jump in to any threads and battle! This patronus message is also the way that Minerva and Albus can find out about the attack and begin to prepare the professors, etc. for the defense of Hogwarts. Nothing will happen at the school tonight, but Albus will be fortifying it and making sure that when they do try something, the new 'Ministry' will not be able to get in.
Ministry members, if you were at the Ministry for some reason tonight, you should jump in on the thread for your specific level. People with NPC family members at the Ministry who you do not want injured, either have them not be at work, or have them get out quick! Or, of course, have them turn to the dark side!
Those who do get out of the Ministry will probably send frantic owls to their loved ones, messages, etc., about the Ministry falling to Death Eaters, unless they’re too worried about the threats to their families to do so? That’s up to you. Remember the “The Ministry’s been taken” fiasco at the Bill/Fleur canon wedding? I imagine that frantic scene happens in a lot of homes tonight. But it will not be reported in the papers, so unless you have first hand knowledge there is going to be a lot of conjecture and hearsay and disbelief. Phoenix Radio will be bringing you real news soon.
Everyone remember to communicate, etc. If someone is jumping into your level with an NPC, be sure to talk to them about what is going to happen to that NPC. Also, if you would please list out a list of the dead in the thread for LIST OF THE DEAD that will make it easier for us to have a good list of them later. The same goes for injuries, they should go on the LIST OF INJURES thread.
Questions should go in the QUESTIONS thread!
