Not common-common. It's happened before, but I wouldn't say there's been a lot of frequency. Not enough to be a pattern, at lease.

It's kind of sad how some of us who've been here longer just kind of shrug about it and try to go on with our lives.

No, but it didn't seem to start until they gathered all of us here in San Francisco. There are some who were here for at least a year before they grouped us up.

Not sad. Just adaptable.

Perhaps gathering us together has caused some sort of power surge. It's hard to say for sure without looking into it further.

Yeah, that sounds a lot more positive.

I really wish it was something quantitative. Then we could start forming patterns. About the only thing consistent seems to be the duration, but even that can be iffy. Things are supposed to science, dang it!

It's been a little over two years now. Long enough for me to finally hit eighteen!

Maybe that's the problem. It's not something caused by scientific means. But rather, something unnatural.

That is a while by human standards. Is there something significant about being eighteen?

Yeah, but it should still be quantifiable. Even the wishing well had rules.

In my original timeline at home, I died before my 18th birthday. Even in this new world, it was kind of a big fear for me. That I wouldn't make it here either.

Kind of silly, I know.

Not silly at all. Fear of the unknown is not unreasonable and death is one of the biggest unknown factors. But I'm glad you have made it to eighteen and that this strange universe has afforded you the opportunity to do so.
