It's officially Christmas season. I heard "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" on the radio. Here's another thing that I thought was interesting. I was listening to Sirius XM on my phone and they have 23 different holiday stations in the app right now. 23! I didn't realize that there was that much holiday music out there.

According to a 2021 Medium.com post, the database Blokur jumped from just under 10k songs with “Christmas” in the title to between nearly 49k to over 49k in the aforementioned database. However, it isn’t explicitly clear on an exact number despite graphs. It also doesn’t specify in the article which terms were used to search for the songs or if it’s just those with “Christmas” in the title. Musicmachinery.com has a post that appears to be from 2014 that states someone looked into the Spotify and Echo Nest catalog to determine there are nearly 1 million songs. How accurate are either article? Unsure. If I get bored, I may conduct my own research.
