Can someone go to jail for being mean to someone else? Or can they ~~soo~~ sue them? I mean they can probably get in trouble but how much trouble are we talking here?

	Liable and defemation suits tend to be non-state/federal matters, so jail time is rare, but the repercussions can still be costly and reputation ruining. I find it's easier to just try to be nice to people and avoid anyone who's not being nice to you. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Well, suits like that tend to be pretty expensive to file, let alone take to court. A lot of people will usually settle out of court or through third party arbitration. If someone you care about is being mean, maybe try to remind them how it feels when someone is mean to them. Treat others how you want to be treated, is what I say. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	An apology can go a long way, for sure. It might go even further with a plate of the injured party's favorite food or dessert to go with it. Especially if it's made by the injuring party. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
