Status: Incomplete (let me know if you'd rather handwave, Amber)

He had, in fact, not worn a dress, but he did make it a point to where his tight red skinny jeans because she was a red head and it just made sense. With it, he wore a white button down shirt with a black jacket over it, the collar turned up at the neck. His boots were pointed, his eyeliner was on and he was ready, but not before a quick spray of expensive cologne he'd been given for Christmas five years ago by his mom that he hardly ever used.

When the door bell rang, he had to step over Jack the Ripper and avoid the Milky Way singer guy (if he was the singer, whatever, he didn't care) blaring out whiny music in the background. He answered the door for the pretty, fire haired teacher and did his best smile which wasn't very good because his smile looked like crap any way you sliced it.

"Hello, hello," he greeted.

Nat had, in fact, worn a tie. She wore a dress, too, and together it made a bit of an unusual ensemble, but that wasn't slowing her down at all. Rather, the tie was worn loose around her neck, hanging around the billowy blue fabric and the excess of bracelets she had chosen that day.

Parking her little, tired car in front of the place, she made her way up the walk and rang the bell, stepping back as she waited for her date for the night to answer. When he did, she smiled.

"Hi!" she greeted back. "Ready to go?"

Ah. Pretty fire-haired teacher lady. Check was a little surprised to see she'd actually worn a tie and he rubbed at his chin a little.

"Should I put on a skirt?" He had some, but not anything feminine, just goth style kilts or long skirts. The long one made him look like a Backstreet Boy, though, so he didn't wear it a lot.

"You look way better like this," Nat assured. Then, she dipped her head a bit and pulled the tie up and off. Then, she took a step forward and laid it over his head instead.

"There. Gender roles reinstated! Better?" It was a teasing statement, and she hardly expected him to keep wearing her tie. Rather, she just wanted to break the ice, since they didn't exactly hang out a lot.

The tie dropped around his neck and Check smiled again, his mouth lopsided as he adjusted the tie to fit as he fully intended on wearing it all night now that she'd given it to him.

In return, he gave her his arm. "Where are we going? Are you going to take me somewhere and have your way with me by making me dance the Chicken?"

Taking his arm, Nat smiled that much more brightly at him, glad to see him wear the tie and seem to actually like it. A pleasant surprise, as they made their way back towards the car.

"Honestly? I have absolutely no idea where we're going! Is there anywhere to go dancing around here? I usually just dance around my living room with no clothes on."

Check's brows rose in interest. Not much, but there was interest there at the surprising information Natalie provided. This was the sort of information that women shared a lot with Check, mostly if they weren't wearing a bra or panties or something, which always struck him as strange since he wasn't exactly the best looking guy in the world.

"That sounds like the place I want to go, in that case," he said, only half joking. If she said no, then he'd be fully joking. Ha ha . Yes, funny joke, then they'd go somewhere.

"You wanna dance naked in my living room?" Nat asked, cocking her head to the side and shooting him a curious look. "Because if we do that, I'm not doing the naked thing by myself. Or we could do the underwear dance."

Honestly, the whole thing was said quite innocently. She wasn't trying to hit on him, or to get in his pants. She just had no problem with her own naked figure.

Crap. She was one of those naked hippies. Nudists even. Well, maybe not to that extent, but her tone wasn't even suggestive. Eh, oh well.

"Kidding," Check said. "Besides, no one needs to see my underwear. It has Batman."

Leaning over, she touched a kiss to his cheek. "Okay, that makes me doubly want to see them," she said, turning when they got to the car so that she was leaning against the hood of it, hands resting at his waist.

"Do you have somewhere you'd rather go instead?" she asked.

Damn. This woman was really giving him mixed signals, but he stayed relaxed, letting her touch his waist, his arms bending up so his hands could cover hers. She smelled good. Like shampoo or something, he didn't know, he could only guess. Maybe she just smelled like first graders.

"I don't know," he answered. "You're makin' me like it here." Which was the truth. Who would want to go anywhere when they had a pretty fire-haired woman touching them? "We could turn up the radio in your car to whatever you want and dance near the pond, unless you're wanting to go out, in which case, I get to treat since you're driving."

"I don't need to go out. I'm just in this for your company, not a bunch of people I don't know," she replied, thumbs dusting a little against the fabric of his shirt. "Could be fun, just dancing around near the pond." Since there was lots of room for them to do whatever they pleased there.

"Think anyone will mind if we do that and make that kind of noise?"

"Keep flattering me and Batman might make an appearance." Check's grin was big and dumb, but he didn't mind much since she didn't seem to be moving away or put off by the things he was doing and saying. Check shook his head, "As long as it isn't death medal or gangsta rap, we're safe." Cassadaga was a pretty laid back place and anyway, sound didn't travel much from Spirit Pond. Even the tour groups he and Eric conducted got very loud sometimes, but no one had ever complained.

"Now there's a tempting proposition," she teased, squeezing gently at his sides. "I think that's plenty enough reason to dance by the pond."

It didn't matter that he wasn't as impossibly attractive as some people. He was cute in his own way, his smile dorky but sweet. He was good company, that was for sure.

"Underwear dancing?" she offered. "So I can see Batman, of course."

Since she still had a hold of him, Check leaned back a little, his hands leaving hers, his fingers slipping to his big belt buckle. He slid the leather through buckle to unfasten it, then pushed his jeans down without having to unbutton them, just to where she could see Batman on his underwear.

"Caped Crusader," he said. "Right on my crotch."

Her hands slid away to let the pants slide off easier, grinning from ear to ear when Batman was indeed, shown off to her. "That's probably my favourite underwear I've ever seen on a guy, now. I'd say you get a prize but I have no prizes for you! My panties are just plain lavender. No super heroes."

Check was halfway through buckling his belt again when she said THAT and he had to pause and clear his throat. He should have been used to women sharing these things, but he never really got used to it.

"Okay, before Batman becomes Hard-on man, we should go to the pond," he advised since all he could think about was moving those lavender panties aside to see if the carpet matched the drapes.

With a mischievous little twinkle to her eyes when he said that, Nat eased away from where she was leaning against the car, she made her way around to the drivers side of the car and slid inside, waiting for him to do the same on the passenger side.

"Pond time it is," she declared as she started up the car, and headed out, off to find a more secluded spot.

"Oof," Check said softly as she moved away since he wasn't exactly soft and the jeans were a little snug. He adjusted himself, then went to the passenger side to get in, not bothering with the safety belt since the pond was just in his backyard and all they had to do was get to wherever they wanted to dance so the car would be close with the music.

"What are we dancing to?" he wondered aloud. God, he hoped it wasn't Britney Spears. He liked Britney, but he couldn't dance like that.

"A very good question," she said, reaching for the glove compartment to pull out the CD wallet that lived inside. That was set on his leg, as she pulled away from the house and drove to the spot that she wanted to be at. It wasn't far, but it would mean less need to crank the music until anyone nearby would hate them.

"Take your pick. I have a little bit of a lot of things."

Okay, there wasn't any Britney here, which was good. There was Motown, though. That was also good. In fact, it was what Check normally listened to. Motown and other old school soul/r&b. He pulled a Temptations CD from the book.

"How's this?" he asked, sliding his finger into the little circle cut out in the middle of the CD.

Nat turned her head to see what he had picked out, and nodded. "Works for me," she said, gesturing that he could put it into the CD changer as she pulled up to a little gravel pathway that was right near the lake, turning the key to set it to run on battery power so the stereo would work.

Once the CD was in and playing, she rolled down all the windows in the car and opened the door, sliding out most of the way and letting him get out as well before she cranked the volume and hit play. No need to deafen either of them.

Spirit Pond had a nice breeze coming up from it that night so when he got out of the car, he breathed it in. He knew he'd be locked up soon, so he wanted to get as much free air as possible. Checkers removed his coat, set it on the roof of the car, then went to Nat's door to open it for her, trying to be a gentleman.

"May I have this dance?" he asked, bowing surprisingly gracefully. Oh, yes, Check could dance. In fact, he was much better than average at it.

She had just been getting things together when Check came around to her side of the car. It was a surprise when it was opened for her, but she did slip out, her smile warm in his direction.

"Thank you," she said, and took his hand at the offer. "Let's."

As she stood, Check smiled and led her to their own grassy dance floor. He didn't know if she knew any actual dances, but he gave her a little spin to find out if she did or not.

Nat spun easily, gracefully when he twirled her, then moved in against him immediately afterwards, hand settling at his shoulder, holding his in the other.

"I thought you said you couldn't dance," she pointed out cheekily. If they were going to dance properly, she wouldn't be fantastic, but did have a general idea of what she was doing.

"Oops?" Check offered, not surprised to see she knew just how to dance, her fire hair spinning with her. She was lovely in the night light, or really, any light, but her pale skin looked like porcelain in moonlight.

Check danced with her, but nothing fancy. "I like this date better," he commented.

"Better than what?" she asked, curious. It was a good date though. Being out here, just the two of them, no one bothering them and no one else to be found nearby... it was nice. Romantic even.

"You really are a good dancer."
